  a
BUDGET:
Community Promotion
City Manager Huffaker reported the item under Community Promotion Budget that has not been approved is the Chamber
of Commerce request for $15,000.
Mayor Beltran stated the reason the Chamber of Commerce request was held in abeyance was due to the fact the City
had approached the Chamber regarding securing a portion of the building. Mayor Beltran stated the Police Depart-
ment is in dire need of additional office space and as such, an amount of $25,000 was requested in their budget,
it was the City's hope that by securing a portion of the Chamber Building, the City could save $15,000 in expansion
costs.
Mayor Beltran stated he is aware of the Chamber of Commerce Board's decision and he has read the resolution, however,
it is his feeling that had the Chamber been made aware that many of the meeting activities that currently use the Chamber
Meeting Room could be housed in the future Multi -Service Center and Senior Centers and that the Council Chambers would
be made available presently, perhaps their decision might have been different.
Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve the Chamber of Commerce Budget request of
$15,000.
