<br />PUBLIC HEARINGS:
<br />Weed Abatement
<br />Mayor Beltran announced that the Public Hearing was open.
<br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests or objections had been
<br />received.
<br />Mr. Earl Young, Community Services Director, stated that Resolution No. 3581 was approved on March 2, 1976,
<br />initiating the Weed Abatement Program. Mr. Young advised that over 1,000 parcels received notices and over 90
<br />letters were mailed out to those persons having increased costs for the abatement.
<br />Mr. Young concluded that Wood and Associates will handle the Weed Abatement Program, as they have in the past.
<br />Mayor Beltran asked if anyone in the Council Chambers desired to speak on this matter.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the Public Hearing. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Resolution No. 3599. Vote was
<br />unanimous.

<br />Expense Report - 818 Shasta Drive
<br />Mayor Beltran announced that the Public Hearing was open.
<br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been
<br />received.
<br />Mr. John Twiss, Building Inspection Director, made a presentation to the City Council regarding the condemnation
<br />and demolition of the structures located at 818 Shasta Drive, Colton, Parcel No. 164-141-21.
<br />Mr. Twiss advised the demolition was performed by Warren Duncan at a total cost to the City of $675.00, and
<br />Staff is recommending that this amount be placed as a special assessment against the property.
<br />Mayor Beltran asked if anyone in the audience desired to speak on this matter.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the Public Hearing. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. 3600. Vote was unanimous.

<br />3600 - RESOLUTION APPROVING AND CONFIRMING REPORT OF COLTON BUILDING
<br />OFFICIAL FILED PURSUANT TO SECTION 1601 OF THE UNIFORM HOUSING
<br />CODE, ORDINANCE NO. 14499 OF THE CITY OF COLTON, AND THE ASSESS-
<br />MENTS OF CHARGES AGAINST REAL PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.
<br />Chamber of Commerce
<br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter dated April 6, 1976, from Frank Rebollo, Chamber Manager, requesting
<br />permission to improve the appearance of the Chamber of Commerce offices by paneling the inner office, painting
<br />the other office area, and carpeting the inner and outer offices. The Chamber has funds available for these
<br />improvements.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Chamber of Commerce request to upgrade
<br />Chamber offices as outlined. Vote was unanimous.

<br />Empire Plating Company, Inc.
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a petition dated February 16, 1976, that had been received from residents in
<br />the vicinity of 1661 North 8th Street, protesting the excessive noise and late and unusual hours at the premises
<br />of the Empire Plating Company, Inc.
<br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to refer this matter back to Staff for study and
<br />report. Vote was unanimous.
<br />A gentleman in the audience representing the Empire Plating Company, Inc., requested more information on the
<br />petition that had been presented to the Council.
<br />Mayor Beltran suggested that this person get in touch with Staff and they will inform him of the problem and
<br />information received.
<br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
<br />Zoning
<br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 802
<br />Planning Director George Williams reported that Planning Commission Resolution No. 802 involves a zone text
<br />amendment to amend Section 18.12.010 "D" of the Zoning Ordinance, regarding nurseries or foster homes to care
<br />for children, if the applicant applies for a Conditional Use Permit, Index No. A-3-76.
<br />Mr. Williams said that Staff is requesting this item be set for Public Hearing at the next regular Council
<br />meeting, May 4, 1976.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to set Planning Commission Resolution No. 802 for
<br />public hearing on Tuesday, May 4, 1976. Vote was unanimous.
