<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to deny the Claim of Marcia A. Ruiz versus the City of

<br />League of California Cities Meetings
<br />City Attorney
<br />Mr. Edwards referred to his memorandum dated April 1, 1976, regarding future League of California Cities meetings
<br />that he would like to attend, the first a Leadership Conference to be held April 21, 1976, in Coronado, California,
<br />and the second a City Attorney's Department Spring Meeting to be held May 12, 1976, in Newport Beach, California.
<br />Mr. Edwards advised there are funds in the City Attorney's budget for these meetings.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve request of City Attorney to attend League of
<br />California Cities Meetings as outlined. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Vacation - City Attorney
<br />Mr. Edwards read his memorandum dated April 1, 1976, regarding a proposed absence from the City, beginning Thursday,
<br />May 27, and returning Tuesday, June 1, 1976, for personal reasons.
<br />Mr. Edwards requested that the City Council authorize the absence.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, Council approved the days of absence for the City
<br />Attorney as requested. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Condemnation
<br />Demolition of dwelling
<br />City Attorney Edwards reviewed the City Clerk's memo of April 1, 1976, regarding setting of a public hearing for the
<br />Building Official's Condemnation and Demolition Expense Report on the dwelling located at 818 Shasta Drive, Colton.
<br />Mr. Edwards concluded it is recommended a hearing be set for April 20, 1976.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to set for public hearing the Condemnation and
<br />Demolition Expense Report for Tuesday, April 20, 1976. Vote was unanimous.
<br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />Chamber of Commerce
<br />Mr. Frank Robello, Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, presented to the Council members drawings and pertinent data
<br />regarding the Chamber's proposed Beautification Project for the southern approach to the City of Colton involving
<br />six street medians to be submitted to the County Board of Supervisors for approval.
<br />Mr. Robello advised that these projects will be taken care of through gas tax funds, and requested that the Mayor
<br />write a letter supporting the project to be forwarded to the County Board of Supervisors.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, authorizing the Mayor to write a letter of approval
<br />and support for the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Project as outlined, to the County Board of Supervisors.
<br />Vote was unanimous.
<br />Recreation and Parks Commission Meetin
<br />Mr. E. H. Robinson, 145 East "G" Street, Colton, advised that at a recent Recreation and Parks Commission meeting
<br />he had been quite outspoken, and if he had said anything out of line or hurt anyone's feelings, he wanted to apologize.
<br />Sister City Committees - Cananea, Mexico
<br />Mayor Beltran asked the Council members if they had any names to submit for consideration to the Sister City Committee,
<br />that had been discussed at a previous meeting.
<br />Councilman Hayes stated that he would like to submit the names of Mr. and Mrs. Henry De La 0.
<br />Mayor Beltran stated that he would like to submit the following list of names:

<br />Dance Permit
<br />Councilman Gonzales stated that a dance permit request has been received from the Trabajadores Unidos to hold a
<br />dance on April 10, 1976, from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m., at the Patio Supremo.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve the dance permit request of the Trabajadores
<br />Unidos, subject to ratification by the Chief of Police. Vote was unanimous.
