ass <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Bids <br />Assessment District 1975-1 <br />Community Services Director Earl Young referred to his memorandum dated April 1, 1976, regarding the award of <br />construction bids on Sewer Assessment District 1975-1. <br />Mr. Young advised that Staff recommends awarding the bid to Salgado Construction Company in the amount of <br />$81,327.50, and considering approval of Resolution No. 3595. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve 'Resolution No. 3595. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3595 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN PUBLIC WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT IN A <br />SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT. <br />Traffic/Regulations & Control <br />Mr. Young stated that Staff is requesting permission from the City Council to remove the traffic signals at <br />South La Cadena Drive and "M" Street, and place Stop Signs on both sides of "M" Street approaching La Cadena <br />Drive. <br />Mr. Young advised that traffic signals will be placed at La Cadena Drive and "N" Streets, which is a budgeted <br />project. <br />Mr. Young concluded that if Council concurs, a resolution has been prepared for this procedure. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. 3596. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />3596 - AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2119 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ON THE SIXTH DAY OF DECEMBER, <br />19605 TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL THROUGH STREET AND STOP INTER- <br />SECTIONS. <br />Automatic Sprinkler Systems <br />Mr. Young stated that Staff is requesting permission to advertise for automated sprinkling systems at the <br />following locations: "C" Street Underpass and Palmdale cut off; Olive Street Underpass and Palmdale cut off; <br />"C" Street Underpass between Pennsylvania Avenue and 7th Street; Valley Boulevard median strip and Redevelopment <br />Project area; Library site; and Central Ballpark. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve request to advertise for automatic sprinkling <br />systems at the locations outlined by Staff. Vote was unanimous. <br />RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Recreation Director Max Lofy stated that the items he had for this evening's meeting have already been covered <br />by the discussion for the proposed workshop meeting of the Council next Monday. Mr. Lofy advised that any <br />other reports will be covered in the Administrative Report. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Budget <br />Police Department <br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a memorandum from Police Chief Phil Elliott regarding a request to purchase <br />a Citizen's Band radio to be installed in the Communications Van, which will allow communication with existing <br />Citizen's Band handie-talkies now owned by the Police Department, as an aid to increased Police patrol. <br />The radio will cost $200. and there are sufficient funds in the Police Department Capital Outlay Account. <br />Mr. Huffaker concluded that if Council concurs, a resolution should be adopted covering this procedure. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve Resolution No. 3597. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3597 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE 1975-76 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET. <br />Civic Center <br />Use of Council Chambers & Conference Room <br />Mr. Huffaker reported from his memorandum dated April 2, 1976, and an attached report on Administrative Policy, <br />No. V -A-4, dated April 6, 1976, regarding the use of City Hall Meeting Facilities, the Council Chambers and <br />Conference Room, for organizations and groups other than the City Council, and formally appointed Boards, <br />Commissions and Committees. <br />Mr. Huffaker stated this Administrative Policy establishes particular rules for the use of City Hall Meeting <br />Facilities, and Staff is requesting approval of this policy by the Council in order to properly handle future <br />requests. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Administrative Policy, No. V -A-4, <br />regarding the use of City Hall Meeting Facilities. Vote was unanimous. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 1492. <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1492 for second reading, reading it as to number and title <br />only: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1492 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING SECTION 3 OF <br />Second Reading ORDINANCE NO. 609 AND SECTION 2.12.040 OF THE COLTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE. <br />
