Appointments
Mayor Beltran stated that the appointments to the Utilities Commission will be made after second reading of Ordi-
nance No. 1506, at the next regular Council Meeting.
Agreements
City Attorney Edwards introduced a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement with the Tri -County Council on Criminal
Justice, which is a routine item, and has been reviewed by himself and Police Chief Elliott, and it is recommended
for execution.
Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving and authorizing Mayor to sign Joint Exercise
of Powers Agreement with the TriCounty Council on Criminal Justice. Vote was unanimous.
Ordinance No. 1507.
Councilman Rehrer suggested that the City Council consider for approval an ordinance that has been prepared by the
City Attorney, prohibiting certain nude conduct in public places for the City of Colton, in compliance with a
letter received from the District Attorney's office.
City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1507 for first reading, reviewing sections of the proposed ordinance
for Council's information.
Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve first reading of Ordinance No. 1507.
Vote was unanimous.
ORDINANCE NO. 1507 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ADDING
First Reading) CHAPTER 9.11 TO TITLE 9 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE PROHIBITING
CERTAIN OBNOXIOUS NUDE CONDUCT.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Mrs. Ione Oliver, 820 West G Street, Colton, requested the City Council to investigate a very serious problem that
is being created by the high school students continually parking on both sides of G Street, and other nearby streets
in close proximity to the High School. Mrs. Oliver suggested that "No Parking" signs be posted.
Community Services Director Earl Young stated as the Council Members know, this has been an aggravating problem for
the residents in that area, as well as the City. Mr. Young advised at one time the School District requested that
"No Parking" signs be posted on the north side of G Street, however, at a later date, due to substantial citizens
complaints, this was removed and "No Parking" signs were placed on the south side of G Street. Mr. Young said, none-
theless, neither alternative was a solution or alleviated the problem.
Mr. Young reported that in discussions with the School District, he has been advised there is ample parking on the
high school grounds for the students, however, it seems that they choose to park elsewhere, which continues to
create this problem.
Mr. Young suggested that Staff can made another survey of the area, to get the opinions and comments of other resi-
dents also.
Councilman Hayes felt this was a good suggestion, and also stated that Staff Members should get together with the
School Board Members and see what can be worked out to solve these problems and possibly come up with a solution.
Council Members also instructed the Police Department and Community Services Department to make reports on
this problem.
ADJOURNMENT:
Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, Mayor Beltran adjourned the meeting at 9:50 p.
m. Vote was unanimous.
Approved this day of , 1976.
Mayor
HELEN A.
