City Manager Huffaker advised that the public hearing this evening involves an amendment to Personnel Resolution <br />No. 2240, to change this year's celebration of Lincoln's Birthday from Thursday, February 12, to Friday, <br />February 13. <br />Mr. Huffaker stated it is felt the City would benefit from a more productive output during an uninterrupted <br />work period, and all employees, except police shift, fire shift, and refuse division workers, would be affected. <br />Mr. Huffaker concluded that if Council agrees, it would be in order to approve Resolution No. 3567. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone else desired to be heard. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to close the Public Hearing. Vote was unanimous. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. 3567. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3567 <br />1/Arati nn <br />- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />SECTION 10, OF RULE XI, OF RESOLUTION 2240, PERSONNEL SYSTEM <br />RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF COLTON AS AMENDED BY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3368. <br />Alley - Between "F" and "G" Streets, Resolution No. 3557 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been <br />received. <br />Community Services Director Earl Young stated the alley to be vacated is located between "F" and "G" Streets, <br />east of Pennsylvania Avenue, and is indicated in red on a drawing that has been furnished to the Council <br />members. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone else desired to be heard. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to close the Public Hearing. Vote was unanimous. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. 3568. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3568 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA <br />ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY EAST OF PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE <br />BETWEEN "F" AND "G" STREETS. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Hermosa Cemetery <br />Request for Companion Burials <br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a letter from Mrs. Frances Dennington, dated January 15, regarding her <br />family plot at Hermosa Cemetery and companion burials. <br />Mr. Huffaker also referred to a report from Earl Young, Community Services Director, dated January 21, 1976, <br />regarding companion burials at other cemeteries and the possibility of engaging in companion burials at Hermosa <br />Cemetery. <br />Mr. Huffaker recommended that this matter be referred back to Staff for further study and report. <br />Mrs. Frances Dennington, 15957 Randall Street, Fontana, California, stated she is well aware of the fact that <br />a companion burial entails extra work and expense, however, she is more than willing to forgo the additional <br />expense, as it is well worth it to her and her family. Mrs. Dennington said there are only three remaining <br />plots in Block 159, which will not accommodate the rest of the family if they were required to have single <br />burials. <br />Mayor Huntoon advised Mrs. Dennington that Staff will be investigating this matter further and will advise her <br />as soon as possible. <br />Hermosa Cemetery <br />Letter from Mrs. Culpepper <br />City Manager Huffaker read a letter from Mrs. Charles H. Culpepper, dated January 16, commending the Staff and <br />crew for the very neat appearance and fine maintenance of Hermosa Cemetery. <br />Mrs. Culpepper's letter was noted and filed. <br />Traffir <br />Regulations & Control <br />City Manager Huffaker advised that a petition has been received containing approximately 75 names, requesting <br />that a four-way stop sign be installed at the corner of East F Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to refer this matter to Staff for further study and <br />report. Vote was unanimous. <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Resolution on Air Pollution <br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a resolution approved by the Chamber of Commerce dated February 3, 1976, <br />indicating the Chamber's opposition to the CARB new source review rules A & B with regard to air pollution <br />control. <br />Mr. Huffaker stated it would not be necessary for the Council to pass a resolution on this matter, however, it <br />would be in order for the Mayor to write a letter to the Southern California Air Pollution Control District <br />stating the Council's feelings. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, authorizing Mayor to write letter to the Southern <br />California Air Pollution Control District indicating the City Council's feelings of opposition to the new standards <br />regarding air pollution control.
