COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 18, 1977 <br />79 0 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the* <br />Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Beltran presiding. <br />Mayor Beltran led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. <br />R01 I CAI I <br />Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Beltran. Also present were City Manager <br />Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Mi niitPc <br />October 4, 1977 <br />Warrants <br />13573 through 13865 <br />12251 through 12428 <br />October 13, 1977 Inclusive <br />Bids <br />Approve Specifications and authorization to advertise for Bids on one 1978 <br />Police Unit. <br />Agreements <br />Renewal of Agreement between City of Colton and William Freeman for large <br />animal pick-up. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />Mayor Beltran stated that Item No. 5 on the Consent Calendar, second reading of Ordinance No. 1522, would be re- <br />moved from the Consent Calendar and discussed later in the meeting. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />PPrmitc <br />Mayor Beltran referred to an Application for Dance Permit, requested by Schafer Management Company, Inc., doing <br />business as Mione's Restaurant and Saloon, at 1453 West Valley Boulevard, for issuance of an annual dance permit. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Annual Dance Permit requested by <br />Mione's Restaurant and Saloon. Unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Mayor Beltran reported from a letter dated September 30, 1977, from Virgil D. Waters, Chairman of the Southern <br />California Transportation Action Committee, requesting the Colton City Council's support and endorsement of SCTAC's <br />Resolution for the completion of the Southern California Freeway System. <br />Mayor Beltran stated the letter also advises of a Transportation Forum on Southern California's Pressing Highway <br />Needs to be held on Wednesday, October 26, 1977, at the Pasadena Hilton Hotel. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to support and endorse the Southern California Trans- <br />portation Action Committee's Resolution for the completion of the Southern California Freeway System. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Conditional Use Permit <br />P. C. Res. No. 847 <br />Mayor Beltran stated that due to insufficient time to thoroughly study this matter, he would recommend to the <br />Council Members that Planning Commission Resolution No. 847 be continued to the next regular Council Meeting. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to continue Planning Commission Resolution No. 847 <br />until the next regular Council Meeting. Vote was unanimous. <br />Conditional Use Permit <br />P.C. Res. No. 848 <br />Planning Director Benny Gonzales read in full Planning Commission Resolution No. 848, outlining five conditions for <br />approval of a Conditional Use Permit application, Index No. C-7-77, requested by Coast Construction Company for <br />approval of a plan of development for ten lots in an R-1 tract located on approximately 2.56 acres of land on the <br />north side of "E" Street, between 2nd and 4th Streets. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to approve Planning Commission Resolution No. 848. <br />Vote was unanimous. <br />Varianro <br />P. C. Res. No. 849 <br />Mr. Gonzales read in full Planning Commission Resolution No. 849, recommending approval of a Variance application <br />subject to the conditions of Tentative Tract No. 9974 and Index No. C-7-77, requested by Coast Construction Company <br />to reduce the front yard and rear yard setbacks on Lots 1 and 5, from 20 feet to 15 feet; reduce the front yard <br />setbacks on Lots 2, 35, 4, 6, 75 8, and 9, from 25 feet to 20 feet; and a 15 foot front yard and side street yard <br />setback on Lot 10 in Tentative Tract No. 9974, located on approximately 2.56 acres of land on the north side of "E" <br />Street, between 2nd and 4th Streets, Index No. V-4-77. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Planning Commission Resolution No. 849. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />OCT 1 c 1977 <br />
