Resolution No. 3803 <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full Resolution No. 3803, supporting the construction of <br />a nuclear power plant at a desert site in Blythe, California, to be called the <br />Sundesert Nuclear Project, which will serve the electric power needs of Southern <br />California. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve RESO- <br />LUTION NO. 3803. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zoning <br />P. C. Res. No. 873 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no <br />protests or objections had been received. <br />Planning Director Gonzales advised that the zone change application was re- <br />quested by Carl E. Hupp, to change the zone from C-2, general commercial, to <br />(� M-15 light manufacturing, on property located 379 feet north of the 'San <br />(Y) Bernardino County line, fronting La Cadena Drive, Parcel No. 277-061-46. <br />Mr. Gonzales said that the Planning Commission, at a public hearing held <br />Q March 28, 1978, recommended approval of the zone change from C-2 to M-1. <br />Q as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 873. <br />Q <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to terminate <br />the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1538 for First Reading, reading <br />it as to number and title only, and recommending deletion of Line 19 within the <br />body of the Ordinance which reads "or any other zone which the Planning Commis- <br />sion deems appropriate". <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1538 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. <br />(First Reading) 964, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSI- <br />FICATIONS. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer,- seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further <br />reading of Ordinance No. 1538, with deletion as outlined. Unanimous vote. <br />Weed Abatement <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported on a letter <br />dated April 17, 1978, from Leonard H. Brown, President of Southern Commercial <br />Corporation. <br />Community Services Director Earl Young advised that notices of hearing were <br />sent to all properties to be abated, and referred to a letter dated March 31, <br />1978, from John D. Krenzalek, which the Fire Department has responded to. <br />Mr. Young stated if the City Council determines there are insufficient protests <br />received regarding the weed abatement program, Staff would recommend approval <br />of Resolution No. 3804. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the <br />Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolu- <br />tion No. 3804.
