PERS/Retirement <br />Misc. Employees <br />181 <br />City Attorney Edwards advised that the Amendment to the Contract between the City <br />of Colton and PERS, Section 20024.2 (one-year final compensation) for miscellaneous <br />employees, needs to be made public because of cost factors of the proposed Amendment <br />prior to completing the Certification of Government Body's action. <br />Mr. Edwards stated this Amendment was approved by the City Council, by Resolution <br />No. 3880, at a previous Council Meeting held November 21, 1978. Mr. Edwards said <br />the cost of this amendment is 2.019%, or $40,000, annually which will apply to <br />all payrolls covered by this benefit until the year 2000. <br />Zoning <br />Ord. No. 1553 <br />City Attorney Edwards referred back to Item No. 10 of the Agenda, advising that <br />although the prezoning of Annexation West 31 was referred back to the Planning <br />Commission, there was no action taken on the prezoning of Annexation South 36, <br />and if the City Council concurs, it would be in order to pass first reading of <br />Ordinance No. 1553, for the prezoning of Annexation South 36 only. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further <br />(Y) reading of Ordinance No. 1553. Unanimous vote. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1553 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9645 <br />First Reading AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Q <br />Q ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Councilman Hayes requested approval and authorization for City crews to assist with <br />the moving/removal of bleachers from Bloomington High School to the Colton High <br />School Football Field for the CIF Football Game on Friday, December 8, 1978, for <br />the capacity crowds expected. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, approving and.authoriz- <br />ing use of City crews for moving/removal of bleachers from Bloomington High School <br />to the Colton High School Football Field for Friday, December 8, 1978. Unanimous <br />vote. <br />Zoning <br />Reche Canyon <br />Mr. Bill Lembrecht and Mr. Gene McMeans again addressed the City Council, expressing <br />their disappointment and disagreement with the City for not standing behind the citi- <br />zens of Reche Canyon on the zone change and proposed development. <br />City Manager Calabrese stated he takes exception to these remarks, as he has never <br />seen a more cooperative. and understanding City Council than ours has been. Mr. <br />Calabrese asked the opponents where are the residents of Reche Canyon when the City <br />of Colton needs them. Mr. Calabrese suggested that the residents of Reche Canyon <br />also approach the County on these issues. <br />ArmnIIRNMFNT <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Temby and unanimously passed, <br />Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:50 p. m. <br />HELEN A.
