RESOLUTION NO. 3767 - A RESOLUTION DIRECTING MAKING OF AMENDED ASSESSMENT
<br />RE CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
<br />NO. 3167 COOLEY RANCH SEWER ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AS-
<br />SESSMENT NOS. 30A4 AND 31B4.

<br />Mr. Calabrese read a memorandum dated February 1, 1978, from Community Services
<br />Director Earl Young, regarding certain City owned properties in the Domecq
<br />Well area, in particular our Well Site No. 15, located north of Citrus Street
<br />and west of Grand Avenue, and questions involving the actual location of sur-
<br />rounding properties in the area.
<br />Mr. Calabrese advised that Staff has been working with Mr. A. E. Watwood, owner/
<br />developer of property surrounding our well site, conducting surveys, etc., to
<br />resolve ambiguities involving these properties.
<br />Mr. Calabrese continued that Staff is now requesting approval of two deeds, a
<br />Grant Deed from Mr. Watwood to the City of Colton, and a Quitclaim Deed from
<br />the City of Colton to Mr. Watwood, which, when executed, will resolve the un-
<br />certainties relating to the well site and surrounding properties. The overall
<br />CD dimensions of the well site will remain 130 feet by 300 feet.

<br />Mr. Calabrese concluded if the Council Members concur, it is recommended the
<br />Grant Deed from Mr. Watwood be accepted for recording, and the Mayor and City
<br />Clerk be authorized to execute the Quitclaim Deed to Mr. Watwood.
<br />Q Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, accepting Grant
<br />Deed from Mr. Watwood to the City of Colton for recording, and authorizing Mayor
<br />and City Clerk to execute Quitclaim Deed from the City of Colton to Mr. Watwood
<br />with regard to the City's Well No. 15, as outlined by Staff. Unanimous vote.

<br />Surplus City Property
<br />Mr. Calabrese reported from a memorandum dated February 1, 1978, from the De-
<br />partment of Community Services, regarding surplus City property located on the
<br />north side of Mill Street, west of Mt. Vernon Avenue and across from the Fedco
<br />Store, in the City of San Bernardino.
<br />Mr. Calabrese said Staff recommends that this property be disposed of and that
<br />an appraisal of the property be made by an outside firm. After an appraisal
<br />has been made, Staff will prepare a resolution declaring intention to sell the
<br />City owned property for Council's consideration and approval.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, authorizing Staff to
<br />retain outside firm for reappraisal of City owned property, located on north
<br />side of Mill Street, west of Mt. Vernon Avenue, for future sale of said property.
<br />Vote was unanimous.
<br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:

<br />R. Resvaloso vs. City of Colton
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to deny Claim
<br />of Robert Resvaloso versus the City of Colton, as recommended by City's
<br />insurance administrators. Unanimous vote.
<br />Street Vacations
<br />City Manager Calabrese advised that at a meeting of the Redevelopment
<br />Agency, held January 17, 1978, the Agency referred to the City Council
<br />the proposed street vacation of a portion of 10th Street, to be set for
<br />public hearing at the next regular City Council meeting, February 21,
<br />1978.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to set
<br />for public hearing on Tuesday, February 21, 1978, the proposed vacation
<br />of a portion of 10th Street. Motion carried, with Councilman Rehrer
<br />voting NO.
