<br />Planning Director Gonzales reported on a Variance application, Index No. V-6-77,
<br />requested by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, to construct a 16 foot, free-stand-
<br />ing sign, on property at the southwest corner of Rancho Avenue and Laurel Street,
<br />the site of the church, located in an R-1 zone.
<br />Mr. Gonzales said the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this matter,
<br />January 10, 1978, and recommended approval of the Variance application, subject
<br />to five conditions, as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 860.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Planning
<br />Commission Resolution No. 860. Unanimous vote.

<br />Mr. Gonzales advised under the provisions of the Municipal Reorganization Act,
<br />which went into effect January 1, 1978, the City Council is required to pass a
<br />resolution indicating their agreement with any new annexation, and containing
<br />certain data.
<br />Mr. Gonzales continued the Anderegg family wishes to annex their property to
<br />the City of Colton, which consists of approximately 19.69 acres and is located
<br />in the La (Loma Hills.
<br />Mr. Gonzales concluded Staff has prepared Resolution No. 3763, initiating pro-
<br />ceedings for the proposed annexation, for Council's consideration and approval.
