17 <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by. -Councilman Hayes; to continue the report on <br />recommended reorganization for delivery of public services to the next regular Council <br />Meeting, January 17, 1978. Unanimous vote. <br />Pedestrian Crossings <br />Mr. Calabrese read his memorandum regarding Staff's report concerning further studies <br />made on a previous request to beautify and repaint the pedestrian bridge crossing <br />over South La Cadena Drive near the Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. <br />Mr. Calabrese advised the estimated cost to paint the overpass would be approximately - <br />$275 for materials, utilizing City forces for the labor involved. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated if the Council determines that the overpass be painted by City <br />forces, it is recommended the Community Services Operating Budget assume the cost of <br />these materials. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving allocation of <br />$275 for materials, to be taken from the Community Services Operating Budget, with <br />labor to be performed by City forces, to repaint the -pedestrian bridge crossing over <br />South La Cadena Drive. Vote was unanimous. <br />Mr. Frank Rebollo, Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, mentioned that the original <br />request, from the Agua Mansa Restoration Association and the Woodrow Wilson School <br />PTA, was to conduct an open contest among the youth in the area for their ideas and <br />suggestions as to how they would beautify the crosswalk. <br />Mr. Calabrese said this would create a problem inasmuch as the people performing the <br />labor would have to be elevated to do the work involved. . <br />Mayor Beltran stated that the City Council has just approved an allocation of funds <br />for this project with the work to be done by .City forces, and suggested that Mr. <br />Rebollo submit any additional information and ideas on this matter to the City Manager <br />for further study and report. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Resolution No. 3759 <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Resolution No. 3759 for the Council's consideration <br />and approval, explaining this resolution outlines the polling places and election <br />officers for the forthcoming General Municipal Election to be held in Colton, March 7, <br />1978. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3759. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />3759 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />GIVING NOTICE OF ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES FOR THE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, <br />THE 7TH DAY OF MARCH, 1978. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Eddie Colunga, 394 South Eucalyptus, Rialto, questioned the zone change, under <br />Public Hearings, Item No. 4, which was explained to him by Planning Director Gonzales. <br />An,1ni 1RNMFNT - <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, <br />Mayor Beltran adjourned the meeting at1.
