COUNCIL MEETING March 21, 1978 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by the Reverend Robert K. Johnson of the Colton Community Church. ROLL CALL: Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Calabrese, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. CONSENT CALENDAR: Councilman Rehrer requested that Item No. 3, Bids, be removed from the Consent Calendar and discussed later in the meeting. Unanimous vote. MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: Griffin Wheel Company: Mayor Gonzales read in full a Resolution of Commendation honoring the Griffin Wheel Company and their anniversary of its 100th year in operation. The Reso- lution was accepted by Mr. Richard Weisberg, Office Manager of the Griffin Wheel Company. National Library Week: Mayor Gonzales read in full a..Proclamation honoring National Library Week, April 2 through 8, 1978, which was accepted by Dr. Renald J. Anelle, Chair- man of the Library Board. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Street Vacations urange Show Road Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Community Services Director Earl Young advised the Planning Commission re- viewed and discussed the proposed street vacation at a meeting held January 10, 1978, and recommended approval of the vacation of Orange Show Road right- of-way, with the stipulation that the right-of-way for the alternate route be deeded to the City simultaneously. Mr. Young stated that Mr. Robert Moody has advised he would present the deed for the alternate route right-of-way at the public hearing this evening. Mr. Robert Moody, Manager of the Inland Golf Center in Colton, stated the Grant Deed has been signed by the grantors involved, with the exception of Mr. Clifton Wolf, who has advised he will be forwarding the deed within the next few days.
