4 4 City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1537 for First Reading, read- ing it as to number and title only: ORDINANCE NO. 1537 - ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING First Reading FOR CONTRIBUTION FUNDS TO APPLY AS CREDITS UPON LEVIED ASSESSMENTS IN CERTAIN SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS. Lease/Agreement Mr. Calabrese reported on the lease,.dated February 1, 1961, between the City of Colton and the County of San Bernardino for the Justice Court facility, and a proposed amendment thereto, which would allow the County to expand the Court and in return the County will pave the proposed parking lot, located at the southeast corner of 9th and "D" -Streets, and increase their pro -rata for main- tenance and upkeep costs for the Civic Center to 12.3% of total costs. Mr. Calabrese stated the Council previously reviewed and approved the plans for the building addition, and Staff recommends the Mayor be authorized to execute the amendment to the lease agreement with the County of San Bernardino. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve and authorize Mayor to execute amendment to lease agreement between the City of Colton and the County of San Bernardino regarding expansion of Colton Justice Court facility. Unanimous vote. Bids 1978 Police Patrol Units Mr. Calabrese advised that five bids were received to furnish and deliver ten new 1978 Police Special Units, and Staff recommends awarding the bid to Center Chevrolet in the amount of $58,051.54, for ten new 1978 Nova four - door sedans. Moved by Councilman.Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, awarding bid to Center Chevrolet, in the amount of $58,051.54, for ten new 1978 Police Special Units. Unanimous vote. Bids Community Centers Councilman Rehrer stated that he had requested this item, concerning ad- vertisement for bids on kitchen equipment for the Community Centers, be removed from the Consent Calendar, as he felt the former City policies and procedures should be followed on this particular item, by advertise- ment in the newspaper and requesting bid security, giving more vendors the opportunity to bid on this item. Mr. Calabrese asked Councilman Rehrer if he was recommending that this procedure be followed on all bids. Councilman Rehrer said not necessarily, however, on this item concerning the kitchen equipment for the Community Centers, he was requesting that the regular bidding procedures be followed. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, authorizing Staff to advertise for bids on kitchen equipment for the Lawrence A. Hutton and Peter S. Luque Community Centers as outlined. Vote was unanimous.
