Luque Multi -Service Center. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated since this is not a budgeted item, Staff needs Council's <br />approval for expenditures for the construction and installation of this hood, <br />which will cost approximately $3,372.00. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, approving and <br />authorizing expenditure of $3,372.00 for construction and installation of fire <br />protection hood over kitchen range at the Peter S. Luque Multi -Service Center. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Environmental Protection Files <br />Ordinance <br />Mr. Calabrese referred to an ordinance adopted by the City of Chino regarding <br />the control of the sale of aerosol spray paint cans to minors, which has become <br />a problem in various cities due to the "writing" on walls, fences, etc., with <br />the cans of paint. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated if the Council desires to adopt such an ordinance, Staff <br />can proceed in this direction, or the Council may also desire to set this item <br />for public hearing, because of local merchants that would be affected by this <br />(Y) ordinance. <br />On Council consensus, Staff was directed to set for Public Hearin on Tuesday, <br />Q g y' <br />November 21, 1978, the matter of regulating the sale of aerosol spray cans to <br />minors and a proposed ordinance controlling same. <br />Q <br />Personnel <br />Holidays <br />Mr. Calabrese advised that one of the provisions in the Memorandum of Understand- <br />ing for general employees, between the City of Colton and S.B.P.E.A., was the re- <br />moval of the holiday, known as Election Day, and replacing it as a floating holiday, <br />to be used annually, and, in this regard, the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations <br />need to be amended. <br />Mr. Calabrese recommended this matter be set for Public Hearing on Tuesday, November <br />7, 1978. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to set for Public <br />Hearing on Tuesday, November 7, 1978, amendment to the Personnel Rules and Regu- <br />lations for the City of Colton, Rule XI, Section 10, Holidays. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMFNDATTnNs- <br />Ordinance No. 1550 <br />Second Reading <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1550 for Second Reading, reading <br />it as to number and title only: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1550 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. <br />Second Reading 9645 AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSI- <br />FICATIONS. - <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further <br />reading of Ordinance No. 1550. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to adopt Ordinance No. <br />1550. Vote was unanimous. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:50 p. m., to discuss Personnel <br />Matters, and reconvened at 9:35 p. m., all Members present. <br />Personnel <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approving and authoriz- <br />ing extension of Leave of Absence without pay for a period of six months for em- <br />ployee James Hofland.
