Moreno - for street purposes. Approve and authorize recording. <br />Claim <br />Thomas A. Docherty vs. City of Colton. Recommend denial. <br />Bids <br />Diesel powered Cab & Chassis and Aerial Lift Device - reject all bids and author- <br />ize formal bid procedures. <br />Authorize formal bid procedures for twelve 25 KVA Pole Mount Transformers, <br />Electric Department. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Legislation <br />Mayor Gonzales acknowledged that Congressman George E. Brown, Jr., was present this <br />evening, and welcomed him to the Council Meeting. <br />Resolution of Condolence <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Resolution of Condolence, which was presented to <br />Mrs. Elston Hulsey, expressing sympathy on the passing of her husband. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving Resolu- <br />tion of Condolence. Unanimous vote. <br />Proclamation <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring the Year of 1979 as Interna- <br />tional Year of the Child, which was presented to Mrs. Ramona Gutierrez, represent- <br />ing Operation Head Start. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Weed Abatement <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Mailing Notice of Hearing and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Director of Community Services Earl Young made a report to the Council Members on <br />the 1979 Weed Abatement Program, stating that the Fire Department has made the <br />routine inspections and reports on the work to be done. Mr. Young advised that <br />he talked with one of the property owners involved, Mr. Eugene Schleuter, who ex- <br />pressed his concern over the costs for abating his property. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the Public <br />Hearing. Vote was unanimous. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3905. Unanimous vote. <br />APR 17 1979 <br />
