w <br />Mayor Gonzales stated he had attended the Cemetery Commission meetings, and'he fe 2 ' 4 <br />the recommendation as made by the Commission was a sound one, and should be accepted. <br />Mayor Gonzales said if the City is going to keep tossing this matter back and forth, <br />nothing will ever get settled, and we will just be spinning our wheels. <br />Mrs. Darlene Trimble, Member of the Cemetery Commission, stated she was in complete <br />agreement with Mayor Gonzales, and felt the City should at least try this approach <br />to see if it will work out. Mrs. Trimble said she felt the City should go with <br />Example No. 2 for at least this next year. <br />After additional discussion, moved by Mayor Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, <br />approving the recommendation of the Cemetery Commission with regard to maintenance <br />at Hermosa Cemetery, as outlined. Upon Roll Call, the Vote was: <br />AYES: Five; Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, Gonzales. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />PPrgnnnPl <br />Mayor Gonzales stated because this was Earl Young's last Council Meeting, he would <br />like to extend best wishes in all of his future endeavors. <br />co <br />Mr. Young stated he was a resident of Colton for some 25 years, and has been em- <br />ployed with the City of Colton for approximately 11 years. Mr. Young expressed <br />his pleasure in working with Members of the City Council and City Staff, and <br />thanked everyone for their courtesies and kindness. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 1561 <br />Second Reading <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1561 for Second Reading, reading it <br />as to number and title only: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1561 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 964, <br />Second Reading AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to waive further reading <br />of Ordinance No. 1561. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 1561. Vote was unanimous. <br />Agreements <br />Amendment to Joint Powers Agreement <br />City Attorney Edwards advised the Council Members of an amendment to the Joint Powers <br />Agreement for implementation of the Economic Development Action Program, among five <br />cities, including Colton, which was approved October 3, 1978. The amendment concerns <br />a change to page 15 of the Agreement, which was provided by the secretary to W. E. <br />Coombs, City Attorney of Rialto. Mr. Edwards read the changes as made to the City <br />Council. <br />Mr. Edwards stated if the City Council is in agreement with the amendment, it would <br />be appropriate to approve a resolution, noting the changes and amendment to the Joint <br />Powers Agreement. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve RESOLUTION NO. <br />3907. Unanimous vote. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Gene McMeans, 12004 Glenwood Avenue, Colton, asked if the Reche Canyon residents, <br />as well as the County offices, would be advised of any forthcoming public hearings <br />dealing with the General Plan. <br />Mr. McMeans was assured that notices would be sent out to all concerned when the City <br />holds the public hearings on the General Plan element. <br />Mr. Frank Rebollo, General Manager of the Colton Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the <br />new retail businesses in Colton, future businesses in Colton, and encouraging our <br />citizens to "shop in Colton". <br />APR 17 1979 <br />
