2019 <br />Agreements <br />Mr. Calabrese presented to the Council Members, for their consideration and approv- <br />al, a Joint Use Agreement between the Cities of San Bernardino, Rialto, Colton, <br />Central Valley Fire Protection District, and Redlands, for the purchase and use <br />of an air compressor truck. <br />Mr. Calabrese advised that the cost, which will be approximately $5,000, has been <br />budgeted in the approved 1978-79 Budget. <br />Councilman Rehrer questioned the insurance on this air compressor truck, and who <br />would be responsible for this. <br />Fire Chief Al Teague stated that the City of San Bernardino will provide the vehicle, <br />they are self-insured, and they would be responsible for handling this, as outlined <br />in the agreement. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approving Joint Use Agree- <br />ment for purchase and use of air compressor fire truck, as outlined, and authorizing <br />the Mayor and City Clerk to execute same. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />M <br />(Y� Building Security <br />Proposed Ordinance <br />Q City Attorney Edwards read his memorandum dated February 15, 1979, regarding con- <br />sideration and future adoption of a building security ordinance, which was presented <br />Q to the City Council and the Planning Commission previously by the Chief of Police. <br />Mr. Edwards outlined various alternatives available to the City Council in this re- <br />gard, recommending that this matter be referred to the Planning Commission for con- <br />sideration and recommendation to the City Council. <br />After discussion, moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to <br />refer the proposed building security ordinance to the Planning Commission for con- <br />sideration and recommendation to the City Council. Unanimous vote. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Gene McMeans, 12004 Glenwood, spoke to the City Council advising that the County <br />of San Bernardino is in the process of putting together their General Plan, and recom- <br />mended that the City of Colton express their opinions and provide in -put with regard <br />to future growth and development. Mr. McMeans said the City of Colton does have some <br />say-so with regard to the City's Sphere of Influence. <br />Mrs. Bea Hernandez, 249 West N Street, stated she felt that the City Council should <br />contact Pacific Telephone, requesting they provide the community with the service <br />for payment of telephone bills here in Colton. Mrs. Hernandez said the telephone <br />company has vacant buildings in Colton, and certainly they could afford to have an <br />employee here at least once a week to provide this service to our citizens. <br />Mayor Gonzales announced that Councilman and Mrs. Leroy Rehrer are celebrating their <br />33rd wedding anniversary, and extended his congratulations to them. <br />An,l(IIIRNMFNT <br />Moved by Councilman Temby, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, <br />Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:08,,p.
