2119 <br />tion tax to generate revenue for capital improvement park and recreation funds, <br />which was referred to that Commission for report and recommendation from a previous <br />Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Calabrese advised the Parks and Recreation Commission recommend the park develop- <br />ment tax be retained as adopted by Resolution No. 3739, dated October 21, 1977. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, approving recommendation of <br />Parks and Recreation Commission with regard to fees for a construction tax in the <br />City of Colton. Unanimous vote. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Gene McMeans, 12004 Glenwood, Colton, read a letter in full, dated March 5, <br />1979, addressed to Mayor Gonzales, regarding the poor planning of the two Com- <br />munity Centers, as they had not provided space or facilities for the youth of <br />the City, and Colton is badly. -in need of more recreational activities for its <br />youth. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 9:00 p. m., to discuss Meet and <br />0) Confer matters, and reconvened at 9:43 p. m., all Members present. <br />M <br />cD Crossing Guards <br />City Attorney Edwards stated that with regard to the request for an increase in <br />Q hourly wages for the City's Crossing Guards, the League of California Cities <br />recommend no increase in salaries for public employees at this time because a <br />decision from the California Supreme Court, on this particular legislation, is <br />still pending. <br />ADJOURNMFNT: <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, <br />Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:45 p. m. <br />M <br />HELEN A.
