330 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 6, 1979 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales <br />presiding. <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. <br />ROLL CAI.1 <br />Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Gonzales, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Minutes <br />October 16, 1979 <br />October 22, 1979 <br />Warrants <br />31632, 31646 through 31882 <br />10975 through 11202 <br />November 2, 1979 Inclusive <br />Street Lighting <br />Request from Thomas Villelli for extension of payment for street lighting. <br />Li brary <br />Expenditure of California State Library Services Act Direct Loan Program <br />Funds. <br />Bids <br />Award of Bid to Asplundh Equipment Sales and Service, $58,121.92, cab and <br />chassis and aerial device. <br />Swimming Pool <br />Progress Report. <br />FasPmPnt-, <br />Sewer Line. Balentine; Epigmenio & Diana Roman. <br />Accept and authorize recording. <br />Bids <br />Request permission to advertise for Bids on 1980 Open End Contracts for <br />Asphalt Concrete and Portland Cement Concrete. <br />Claims <br />Deborah Acevedo, Karen Barnes, James R. Bott, and James D. Kearns versus <br />the City of Colton. Recommend denial. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCIAMAT MND - <br />Parade Permit <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a Parade Permit requested by Rev. Daniel 0. Manriquez <br />of the Branch Evangelistic Ministries/Barrios for Christ to be held on Saturday, <br />November 17, 1979, at 11:00 a.m., consisting of approximately 500 people. <br />Police Chief Phil Elliott recommended denial of this request due to the number of <br />people involved and because it involved marching on the street, along La Cadena <br />Drive, commencing at Valley Boulevard and terminating at Veterans Park, which <br />would create a traffic and Police problem.
