3 2 4 Acting City Manager Elliott reviewed a memorandum regarding disposition of a 1950 <br />Seagrave Pumper fire truck by donation or sale to the San Bernardino Valley Junior <br />College, to be used in training students studying fire science and related subjects. <br />Mr. Elliott said Staff recommends the City of Colton sell the Seagrave Pumper fire <br />truck to San Bernardino Valley Junior College for $1.00 to be used as a training <br />aide in their academic program and as a public service to the community,.which can <br />be accomplished by approval of Resolution No. 3939. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. <br />3939. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3939 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON FIXING <br />THE VALUE OF CERTAIN FIRE EQUIPMENT AND SELLING THE SAME TO <br />SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. <br />Agreements <br />City of Loma Linda <br />Mr. Elliott referred to two Agreements between the City of Colton and the City <br />of Loma Li.nda, one for the Loma Linda Fire Department to man Unit 463, which <br />would enable the City of Colton to have this unit on all first alarm grass <br />fires, and the second for the City of Colton to use Loma Linda Fire Department's <br />Ladder Truck, which has the laddering capabilities Colton needs due to the new <br />construction in the area. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Agree- <br />ments between the City of Colton and the City of Loma Linda for Fire Department <br />services, to man Unit 463 and to use the Ladder Truck, as outlined by Staff, and <br />authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute both Agreements. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />_Ordinance No. 1570 <br />Second Reading <br />City Attorney Edwards stated before second reading of Ordinance No. 1570, concern- <br />ing the regulation of a cable television system for the City of Colton, there were <br />several representatives from various cable television companies that would like to <br />make presentations. <br />Mr. Charles M. Trimble, representing Six Star Cablevision, Inc., gave a slide film <br />presentation of the company's proposal for a cablevision system for the City of <br />Colton. <br />Mr. Richard J. Waterman, representing Teleprompter Cable TV, and Mr. Richard <br />Glascock, representing Televents Cable Television, both gave oral presentations <br />of their companys' proposals for cable television in Colton. <br />City Attorney Edwards then introduced Ordinance No. 1571 for Second Reading, read- <br />ing it as to number and title only: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 1570 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING <br />Second Reading COLTON CITY CODE CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF CABLE.TELE- <br />VISION SYSTEM. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to pass Second Reading, <br />waive further reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1570. Unanimous vote. <br />Mr. Edwards recommended that Ordinance No. 1571 be removed from the Agenda and in- <br />troduced at a later date. <br />Mr. Max Hopkins, 11885 Bostick Road, Colton, spoke to the Council Members with re- <br />gard to cable television, stating he was the contractor for the new tract of homes <br />that were built in the La Loma Hills, and when they were attempting to get cable <br />television companies interested in serving that area, the only one that responded <br />was the Six Star Cablevision, Inc. Mr. Hopkins said he hoped the City Council would <br />keep that in mind when making their decision. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mrs..Pauline Garcia, 489 North 4th Street, Colton, stated that this City Council <br />is the epitome of hypocrisy. Mrs. Garcia again criticized the Council Members <br />for their actions relating to the former City Manager and reinstatement of Jerry <br />Young. <br />OCT 2 1979 <br />
