192 Councilman Temby requested look at the Housing Needs for the City and questioned <br />whether the continued development of apartment complexes filled our housing needs. <br />Mayor Gonzales along the same line of Housing Needs question the Housing Rehabilita- <br />tion Program, asking which is more beneficial to our citizens, administration of <br />the program by the County or by the City of Colton? <br />Mayor Gonzales asked for review of the General Plan, in particular to look towards <br />keeping the Reche Canyon area rural. <br />Councilman Hayes asked that Level of Emergency Services city-wide be looked into, <br />that is Fire and Police. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros, asked that the Feasibility of Locating a Fire Station in <br />South Colton be looked at. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros asked that the Level of Recreation Services be looked at, <br />specifically, more Parks. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked that Public Transportation be reviewed. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros asked for review of Sewers and Storm Drains, specifically, <br />the existing problems. <br />Councilman Hayes asked for review of the Electric Utility Department, in particular, <br />ability to continue the level of service now provided, in light of growth taking place. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros requested an Update of City Ordinances, particularly the <br />Zoning Ordinance, in the area of Conditional Use Permits. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked that Staff take a look at the possiblity of Once -A -Month <br />Utility Billing. <br />Mayor Gonzales requested that the Availability of Revenue be looked at, specifically, <br />Grants. <br />City Manager Calabrese suggested looking at the City's Disaster Preparedness Plan, <br />specifically, Employee awareness of the program. <br />Councilman Hayes requested a look at Fire Services in the area of Delivery Services, <br />that is, transporting of patient to hospital or Emergency Medical Services. <br />Mayor Gonzales suggested looking at a program to Encourage Economic Development. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked for a review of the City's Water Supply. <br />Mayor Gonzales requested a study on a New Library. <br />City Manager Calabrese asked for comments on the goals voiced thus far. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros stated she felt the Council needs to be responsible for being <br />choosy on the type of development taking place in the City. <br />City Manager Calabrese reported the overall manpower situation will be reviewed as <br />these goals are looked at. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros, stated the Cemetery should not be forgotten in this process. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros, stated in the area of Fire Services, she would like to see <br />a review of where the Fire Stations are now located and where they should be located <br />for ideal fire protection. <br />Councilman Hayes, said in the Fire Area he would like to see what level we now <br />have, and what will be needed to maintain it. <br />Mayor Gonzales said with the Disaster Plan, he would like to see the process of how <br />to make the public aware of what should be done during such an emergency, how is the <br />public to be notified he asked. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated there are several on-going programs for the City that are <br />currently being administered by someone other than the City and he would like to <br />see something in the area of Regional vs City Control. <br />JAN 10 1979 <br />
