Mayor Gonzales said he felt, however, that someone should be chosen <br />this evening so that we can move forward on this. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros stated it would be repetitious to ask these companies.to sub- <br />mit additional proposals when the City Council has already received their proposals <br />and heard presentations several times. Mrs. Cisneros stated the Council is going <br />to have to get started and cannot be putting it off. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated he agreed also, and in all fairness, he felt these companies <br />deserved an answer this evening. Mayor Gonzales said in this regard, he -would like <br />to make a -motion to introduce Ordinance No. 1571 for First Reading, and award the <br />franchise to Buena Vista Telecommunications, Inc. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Hayes. <br />Councilman Temby stated before the voting, in all fairness to all parties involved <br />here, he would like to ask the other companies if they can also offer the education- <br />al programs with their systems, as was presented by Buena Vista. <br />The representatives from Six Star Cablevision, Televents, Inc., and Teleprompter <br />Corporation all responded yes. <br />After additional discussion, Mayor Gonzales asked for a Roll Call Vote: <br />AYES: Three; Hayes, Cisneros, Gonzales. <br />NOES: Two; Rehrer, Temby. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1571 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, GRANTING A NON - <br />First Reading) EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE FOR A CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEM <br />TO BUENA VISTA TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. <br />PPrcnnnPl <br />City Manager Gonzales referred to class specifications for the position of <br />Administrative Assistant/Personnel. <br />Mr. Gonzales advised in accordance with the City's Personnel Rules and Regula- <br />tions, before the classification and pay plan can be amended, a public hearing <br />must be held, and Staff suggests the Council set a public hearing date of <br />Tuesday, February 5, 1980, with the recommended salary range for the position <br />of 26.2. <br />Mr. Gonzales concluded it is recommended that the position of Personnel Assist- <br />ant, Salary Range 24.0, be deleted. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to set for public <br />hearing on Tuesday, February 5, 1980, amendment to the City's Personnel Rules <br />and Regulations relating to the position of Administrative Assistant/Personnel. <br />Vote was unanimous. <br />ADJ0l1RNMFNT <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously <br />passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p. m. <br />Approved this 5th day of February, 1980. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 5, 1980 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales <br />presiding. <br />J A iy 11980 <br />�,....�,.—...o.... <br />a:.'A %r i'K,y?u...
