468 City Attorney Edwards reported that our Electric Utility Department is now ready to <br />proceed with acquiring, by eminent domain, certain facilities of the Southern Cali- <br />fornia Edison Company which serve the Bluffs Restaurant complex, at Washington Street <br />and the Freeway, and those serving Mojave and Cahuilla Streets. <br />Mr. Edwards stated after hearing the public on this matter, if the Council wishes <br />to proceed, it would be appropriate for the City Council to adopt Resolution No. <br />4037. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak in favor of or in opposition to this <br />matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, the Public Hearing <br />was terminated. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve Resolution <br />No. 4037. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4037 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DECLAR- <br />ING THAT THE ACQUISITION FOR PUBLIC USE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY <br />BY EMINENT DOMAIN IS NECESSARY. <br />Planning <br />Zoning <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no pro- <br />tests or objections had been received. <br />City Attorney Edwards advised that at a previous Council Meeting in June, the City <br />Council directed that amendments be initiated to the zoning ordinance and the <br />General Plan reducing the area designated for industrial use in the portion of <br />the City south of the San Bernardino Freeway, east of Rancho Avenue, and north of <br />the Santa Ana River, and adopted as an urgency measure an interim ordinance pro- <br />hibiting uses in conflict with the contemplated reduction, which will expire <br />October 17. <br />Mr. Edwards further advised that the City Council may extend the ordinance for eight <br />months, which can be accomplished at the public hearing this evening, and pass First <br />Reading of the new ordinance, then adopt the ordinance at a subsequent meeting. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked if Planning Director Trevino had gotten in touch with <br />any members of the community group for their comments on this matter. <br />Mr. Trevino responded that the members are in support of extending the moratorium, <br />however, due to other committments, could not attend the hearing this evening. Mr. <br />Trevino stated he would be meeting with the group again in the near future. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, the Public Hearing <br />was terminated. Unanimous vote. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1590 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15851) -- <br />First Reading PROHIBITING CERTAIN INDUSTRIAL USES IN AN AREA OF THE CITY PEND <br />ING STUDY. <br />Revenue Sharing <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no pro- <br />tests or objections had been received. <br />Acting City Manager Elliott advised that a public hearing was held on September 8, <br />198O,,..for public input on the proposed use of General Revenue Sharing Funds, at <br />which"time no objections or comments were received.
