63 <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to continue the Public <br />Hearing concerning the installation of curb, gutter and sidewalk along Walnut Street <br />to the next regular Council Meeting, Tuesday, September 16, 1980. Unanimous vote. <br />Street Maintenance <br />Alley Paving <br />Mr. Wang continued the public hearing this evening involves requests from adjacent <br />property owners for asphalt paving of alleys located between 9th and 10th Streets <br />and "N" and "0" Streets; between "F" and "G" Streets and 12th and 13th Streets; and <br />between "E" and "F" Streets and Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />Mr. Wang advised that all of the required legal notices have been posted and sent <br />out to the affected property owners, and the formal affidavit has been signed and <br />submitted to the City Clerk's office. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone in the audience desired to speak in favor of, or in <br />opposition to, this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, the Public Hearing was <br />terminated. Unanimous vote. <br />1�HOLUTION NO. 4032 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4033 MAKING FINDINGS, OVERRULING PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS, AND ORDERING <br />RESOLUTION N0. 4034 THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS PURSUANT TO SECTION 5870 <br />ET SEQ., OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE. (CHAPTER 27, DISTRICT <br />NOS. 80-219 80-229 80-23) <br />CORRFSPONnFNCF- <br />Fire Division <br />Colton Fireman's Association <br />Acting City Manager Elliott referred -to a letter dated August 27, 1980, from Rick <br />Turner, Chairman of the Colton Fireman's Association, requesting use of certain <br />City streets to sponsor a 5K and 1OK Foot Race on Sunday, October 12, 1980, from <br />8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with the start to finish line at the Colton High School <br />track for participants ranging in age from 4 years to 70 and over. <br />Mr. Elliott also referred to two maps, A and B, outlining the possible routes to <br />be taken. Mr. Elliott advised that Staff met with members of the Fireman's Associ- <br />ation to discuss the possibilities of this foot race, and have agreed upon a modi- <br />fied version of Map B as the route to be followed. <br />Mr. Elliott concluded that any proceeds derived from the race would be used to <br />purchase smoke detectors for senior citizens, and Staff would recommend approval <br />of this event. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving request <br />from Colton Fireman's Association for Foot Race as outlined by Staff. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Variances <br />P. C. Res. No. 959 <br />Planning Director Trevino reported on a Variance application requested by Manuel <br />Calleros to allow reduction of the required side yard setback from five feet to <br />four feet from an existing structure located at 1317 Redlands Avenue, to accommo- <br />date a proposed addition of approximately 588 square feet. <br />Mr. Trevino stated the Planning Commission reviewed this item at a public hearing <br />held August 26, 1980, and recommended approval of the Variance application includ- <br />ing findings as listed in Planning Commission Resolution No. 959. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to approve Planning <br />Commission Resolution No. 959.
