Unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 1679 <br />Second Reading <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1679 for Second Read- <br />ing, reading it as to number and title only: <br />rORDINANCE NO. 1679 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />(Second Reading) ORDINANCE NO. 16029 AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to pass Second <br />Reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1679. Unanimous vote. <br />Fl arti nna <br />O City Attorney Edwards advised that at a previous Council Meeting the <br />❑ Council Members were apprised, by memorandum from the City Clerk, of <br />the option. of consolidating with the County for our next General Muni- <br />cipal Election, or continue as in the past, having the City Clerk con- <br />duct the 1986 Election. <br />Q Mr. Edwards stated the City Council could, if they wish, make a deci- <br />sion now, or decide at a later date as to what they want to do on this <br />matter. <br />Councilman Rios stated because there is a cost savings involved, he <br />would be in favor of consolidating with the County. <br />Councilwoman Garcia and Councilman Rehrer felt they would like to see <br />the Elections remain in the City of Colton, and conduct our own Elec- <br />tions. <br />Mayor Huntoon and Councilwoman Cisneros stated they also favored con- <br />solidating with the County due to the cost savings and possible better <br />turnout for the elections. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to con- <br />solidate with the County of San Bernardino for the 1986 General Muni- <br />cipal Election. Upon Roll Call, the Vote was: <br />AYES: Three; Rios, Cisneros, Huntoon. <br />NOES: Two; Rehrer, Garcia. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Ordinance No. 1680 <br />Civil Service System <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1680 for First Reading, <br />advising that this ordinance amends Ordinance No. 1122 and Section <br />2.48.050 of the Colton Municipal Code relating to the Civil Service <br />System and places ten positions under the Civil Service System, which <br />are presently exempt positions. <br />Mr. Edwards then read Ordinance No. 1680 in full. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to pass <br />First Reading and waive further reading of Ordinance No. 1680.
