20'7 <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to <br />approve eight additional Police Patrol Officers. <br />Councilwoman Garcia suggested the Council consider 10 officers and <br />the deletion of Administrative Captain. <br />Council Unanimously approved eight additional Police Officers. <br />Administrative Captain - Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by <br />Councilman Rehrer, to delete the salary and benefits in the amount <br />of $63,983 for Administrative Captain. Unanimous vote. <br />FIRE: <br />Battery Exerciser - Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by <br />Councilman Rios to approve all three -items requested by the Fire <br />Department: Battery Exerciser, Engine rebuild, math error for purchase <br />O of new vehicle. Total addition of $8,950. Unanimous vote. <br />co <br />LO ELECTRIC: <br />0 Electric Utility Inspector - Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded <br />co by Councilman Rios, to delete this position. Unanimous vote. <br />Q <br />Substation Electrician I - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by <br />Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve this position. Unanimous vote. <br />Director's Salary - Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by <br />Councilman Rios, to delete the upgrade of the Director's salary to <br />15% above the Superintendents. Motion carried. Mayor Huntoon voting <br />NO. <br />Mayor Huntoon stated he felt there should be a 15% differential. <br />Council consensus was that they were not necessarily opposed to the <br />request, but that this was not the time to consider this. Councilman <br />Rios stated he felt the new City Manager should review this and <br />perhaps bring it back during Meet & Confer. <br />LIBRARY: <br />Library Assistant - Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by <br />Councilman Rios to add a full time Library Assistant I and to delete <br />the part time Assistant I. Unanimous vote. <br />PLANNING: <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to <br />approve the General Plan contribution of $17,500 and the Planner I <br />position adjustment of $2,368. Unanimous vote. <br />Planning Director Aguilera stated he would like to plea for the posi- <br />tion of an additional building inspector. Mr. Aguilera said at one <br />time the department had three field inspectors, however, presently <br />they are operating with two and desperately need a third inspector. <br />Mr. Aguilera said he has expended more than the cost of a full time <br />inspector, this year, by utilizing a part time inspector and overtime. <br />Mr. Aguilera said he has proposed three alternatives: 1. A full time <br />inspector. 2. A part time position. 3. At least $10,000 additional <br />for overtime. <br />Mayor Huntoon felt this matter should wait until the new City Manager <br />comes on board and studies the staffing situation. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />$10,000 for a part time Building Inspector. Unanimous vote. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES: <br />Street Sweeper - Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Council - <br />JUN 17 1986 <br />
