R-42-86. <br />(11) Tract Files <br />Accept Tract No. 10309. <br />(12) Zoning/General Plan Amendment <br />Set for Public Hearing, Tuesday, May 6, 1986, Index No. <br />A-2-84, Zone Change, and Index No. G-2-84, General Plan <br />Amendment, A & K Development, et al. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar, with deletion of Item No. 12. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Committees <br />0 Mayor Huntoon referred to his memorandum regarding appointments to the <br />Centennial Committee, advising that ten more names have been submitted <br />to add to the list of Committee members. Mayor Huntoon stated this is <br />(� an ad hoc committee for the purpose of the Centennial only, and that <br />Steve Edwards will be the liaison to the Committee. <br />Q Resolutions <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution of Recognition welcoming visitors <br />from Rainham, Essex County, England. <br />The Resolution,was accepted by one of the visitors, who gave Mayor <br />Huntoon a letter from the Mayor of the London Borough of Havering, <br />which Mayor Huntoon read to all. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Weed Abatement <br />Res. No. R-43-86 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that <br />no protests or objections had been received. <br />Acting Director of Community Services John Hutton reported that all <br />notices have been mailed- to the respective property owners with regard <br />to the 1986 Weed Abatement Program in accordance with the Weed Abate- <br />ment Law. <br />Mr. Hutton stated if there are insufficient protests or objections at <br />the conclusion of the hearing, Staff would recommend adoption of Reso- <br />lution No. R-43-86. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Mr. Frank Smith, 270 West F Street, complained about the job that last <br />year's contractor did, and stated he hoped they would do a better job <br />this year. <br />Mr. Wilford Sklar, 5904 Copperfield Avenue, Riverside, spoke on behalf <br />of clients owning property on Pepper Street, stating more timely notice <br />should be given in order to abate the property within the time period. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, the <br />Public Hearing was terminated.
