R-48-86. <br />(8) Fleming Park <br />Request from Broken Arrow District, Boy Scouts of America, <br />for use of Fleming Park, Saturday, May 17, 1986, from 7:00 <br />to 9:00 P. M. <br />(9) Claims <br />Richard T. Kissel, William James Dowell, Lake Cadena Invest- <br />ments, and the Heirs of Susan Fowler versus City of Colton. <br />Recommend denial. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve.,.,: <br />the Consent Calendar, with deletion of Item No. 8. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Committees <br />Mayor Huntoon advised the first meeting of the Centennial Committee has <br />been scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 1986, at 5:30 p. m., in the Hutton <br />Center, and that Mayor Pro Tem Rehrer has agreed to preside at the meet- <br />ing pending further organization of the Committee. <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Mayor Huntoon stated there is a vacancy on the Civil Service Board, <br />and asked if the Council Members had any recommendations to make for <br />the appointment. No one responded, and Mayor Huntoon advised this <br />matter would be continued to the next regular meeting. <br />Police Chaplin Program <br />Acting Police Chief Paul Connolly reported on'the newly established <br />Police Chaplin Program, and introduced the Pastors from the local <br />parishes that have participated in the Program, giving each one a <br />Certificate. <br />Rev. James Tom, United Methodist Church <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Community Development Block Grant Projects <br />Res. No. R-49-86 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Planner II David Zamora submitted the Affidavit of Publication and re- <br />ported that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Mr. Zamora reported on the prioritization of the 1986-87, second year, <br />Community Development Block Grant Projects, as covered in the Coopera- <br />ting Cities Agreement with San Bernardino County Office of Community <br />Development, advising that the total allocation for the next fiscal <br />year will be $153,324 to $187,503. Mr. Zamora stated that Staff recom- <br />mends the following projects and allocations: <br />Mr. Zamora stated that Item No. 1 was amended to read as follows: <br />1. Economic Development Study for the La Cadena Drive Corridor south <br />of Interstate 10 to Fogg Street. <br />2. Contingency Fund - suggested use - South La Cadena Corridor Beau- <br />tification for area south of I-10 and north of Fogg Street. To <br />be combined with last year's contingency funds, approximately <br />$249750.00. <br />APR 15 1986 <br />
