Mr. Benest advised Staff has been in contact with the South Coast Air Quality Control Board, and after several attempts, the City has now been notified that additional equipment will be installed at the Plant which should help to alleviate the problem. Mr. Benest said, however, Staff will be following up on this. Mr. Cordova then spoke to the City Council with regard to the Gann ini— tiative and the monetary impact this would have on the City should this bill pass at the November election. Mr. Cordova suggested the City con— sider passing a resolution opposing the Gann initiative. Mr. Wade Seymour, 1818 Cottonwood, requested that the City make a study of the possibility of locating a fire station in their area. City Manager Benest stated that tax allocation bonds have recently been issued that could be used towards this type of facility. Mr. Hugh C. Love, owner of the Mediterrania Inn, 1311 South Santo Antonio Drive, spoke to the Council with regard to the truck parking situation at the motel, and the possibility of the City reconsidering O the resolution, effective August 1, 1986, prohibiting the truck parking. ❑ Mr. Love advised there is adjacent property, owned by Mr. Villelli, that could be utilized if the property were graded and improved for the truck LO parking. Mr. Love stated he has spoken to Mr. Hutton about this. CO City Manager Benest stated there does appear to be alternatives, however, Q if the City lets this situation continue, there could be permanent damage to the street. Mr. Benest stated that he and Mr. Hutton would get together with Mr. Love on this matter. Mrs. Dorothea Cooley, 23832 Placid Lane, Colton, asked if the property donated to the City for use as a fire station location could be sold, and those funds used towards a fire station in an alternate location. City Attorney Edwards advised there are stipulations attached to this particular property. Mrs. Cooley then asked if she could have a legal interpretation on that. City Attorney'Edwards stated he would be happy to meet with Mrs. Cooley to discuss that matter. RECESS: The City Council recessed at 8:25 p. m., to take care of business re— lating to the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton, and recon— vened at 8:30 p. m. CLOSED SESSION: The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:31 p. m., to discuss Labor Relation Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6, and Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, and reconvened at 9:06 p. m., all Members present. Councilman Rios asked what options the City Council would have should a vacancy be created as a result of the November Election. City Clerk Ramos responded the vacancy could be filled by appointment made by the City Council, or by a Special Election. Mrs. Ramos stated she would have a report for the Council at the next meeting. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios and unani- mously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:10 p. m. HELEN A.
