Mr. Benest said, however, Staff <br />will be following up on this. <br />Mr. Cordova then spoke to the City Council with regard to the Gann ini— <br />tiative and the monetary impact this would have on the City should this <br />bill pass at the November election. Mr. Cordova suggested the City con— <br />sider passing a resolution opposing the Gann initiative. <br />Mr. Wade Seymour, 1818 Cottonwood, requested that the City make a study <br />of the possibility of locating a fire station in their area. <br />City Manager Benest stated that tax allocation bonds have recently been <br />issued that could be used towards this type of facility. <br />Mr. Hugh C. Love, owner of the Mediterrania Inn, 1311 South Santo <br />Antonio Drive, spoke to the Council with regard to the truck parking <br />situation at the motel, and the possibility of the City reconsidering <br />O the resolution, effective August 1, 1986, prohibiting the truck parking. <br />❑ Mr. Love advised there is adjacent property, owned by Mr. Villelli, that <br />could be utilized if the property were graded and improved for the truck <br />LO parking. Mr. Love stated he has spoken to Mr. Hutton about this. <br />CO City Manager Benest stated there does appear to be alternatives, however, <br />Q if the City lets this situation continue, there could be permanent <br />damage to the street. Mr. Benest stated that he and Mr. Hutton would <br />get together with Mr. Love on this matter. <br />Mrs. Dorothea Cooley, 23832 Placid Lane, Colton, asked if the property <br />donated to the City for use as a fire station location could be sold, <br />and those funds used towards a fire station in an alternate location. <br />City Attorney Edwards advised there are stipulations attached to this <br />particular property. <br />Mrs. Cooley then asked if she could have a legal interpretation on <br />that. <br />City Attorney'Edwards stated he would be happy to meet with Mrs. Cooley <br />to discuss that matter. <br />RECESS: <br />The City Council recessed at 8:25 p. m., to take care of business re— <br />lating to the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton, and recon— <br />vened at 8:30 p. m. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:31 p. m., to discuss <br />Labor Relation Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6, <br />and Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, and <br />reconvened at 9:06 p. m., all Members present. <br />Councilman Rios asked what options the City Council would have should a <br />vacancy be created as a result of the November Election. <br />City Clerk Ramos responded the vacancy could be filled by appointment <br />made by the City Council, or by a Special Election. Mrs. Ramos stated <br />she would have a report for the Council at the next meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios and unani- <br />mously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:10 p. m. <br />HELEN A.
