55 <br />Mr. Aguilera stated February 24, 19892 is the deadline for filing all <br />project proposals with the San Bernardino County Department of Econom- <br />ic and Community Development. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to close <br />the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving re- <br />port as outlined by Staff for availability of Community Development <br />Block Grant Funds for 1989-90. Unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Mrs. Kathleen Bennett, 6235 Arden, Highland, spoke to the Council with <br />regard to the local Western San Bernardino Special Olympic Program for <br />mentally retarded athletes, which involves athletes from Colton, and the <br />need for funding. <br />Mrs. Bennett then spoke about a fund-raising Golf Tournament to be held <br />Friday, March 17, 1989, inviting the City Council to participate. Mrs. <br />Bennett advised that several neighboring cities have already been con- <br />tacted and will be participating also. <br />LO <br />® Mayor Gonzales commended Mrs. Bennett for her efforts with a very worth- <br />while program. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:45 p. m., to discuss <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, including <br />Review of Findings and Recommendations from the Civil Service Board re- <br />garding the David Duncan Appeal, and reconvened at 9:10 p. m., all <br />Members present. <br />Resolution No. R-26-89 <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve <br />Resolution No. R-26-89. Motion carried, with Mayor Gonzales disquali- <br />fying himself from voting. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-26-89 - A RESOLUTIN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON REGARDING DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN. <br />CITY CLERK'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Canvass of Election <br />Assistant City Manager Leslie Keane reported on the Special Election <br />of the property owner in Annexation No. 1 to Community Facilities Dis- <br />trict No. 88-1, and called upon Deputy City Clerk Veralrud to certify <br />the results of the Election. <br />Mrs. Veralrud reported on canvassing the returns of the votes cast at <br />the City of Colton Community Facilities District No. 88-1 Special Mailed <br />Ballot Election, with a total number of one vote cast in favor. <br />Ms. Keane stated it would not be in order to consider Resolution No. <br />R-22-89, determining results of Election. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />Resolution No. R-22-89.
