TTF.MS <br />Presentations <br />Mayor Gonzales and Dee Brown, of San Bernardino Valley Board of Realtors, <br />presented "Pride of Home Winners" certificates to five couples for keep- <br />ing their homes in commendable condition and helping to beautify Colton._ <br />Five other couples were also given recognition for their homes from the <br />Better Homes & Gardens Association. <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, ratifying re- <br />appointment of Betty Bunker to the Library Board. Unanimous vote. <br />Resolution of Commendation <br />Councilman Rios spoke about Colton's Explorer Program, which had been <br />regenerated because of his efforts, and the current participants and <br />their achievements. Councilman Rios also read in full a Resolution <br />of Commendation honoring Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia, a Colton Police De- <br />partment Explorer, who saved the life of Casimiro Medrano. <br />Resolution <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Resolution for DESIGNATED DRIVER WEEK, <br />June 30 through July 7, 1989. The Resolution was accepted by Officer <br />George Nunez, Colton Police Department. <br />PTTRT.TC HF.ARTNGS <br />Landscaping & Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 <br />Res. Nos. R-85-89 and R-86-89 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Public Works Director John Hutton reported on the City's Landscaping <br />and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 and approval of the Engineer's <br />Report for Fiscal Year 1989-90, on the levying of assessments.
