ADJOURNED CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 89 1990 In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. u nT_T_ r_ a T_T_ Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Attorney Edwards, Legal Counsel Brown, Attorney Olivier, City Clerk Ramos, and Economic Development Director Thornberry. JOINT PUBLIC HEARING: Chairperson Cisneros asked for the Redevelolpment Agency Roll Call. All present. City Clerk/Agency Secretary Ramos announced pursuant to the appropriate sections of the California Community Redevelopment Law, notice was duly given that the City Council of the City of Colton and the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton have authorized a Joint Public Hearing'to consider the approval of a Redevelopment Disposition and Development Agreement with Gatlin/Berger Developments, Inc. Notice of the Joint Public Hearing was published in The Sun, a newspaper of general circu- lation, on April 24, 1990, and May 1, 1990. Mayor Gonzales declared the City Council Public Hearing open. Chairperson Cisneros declared the Redevelopment Agency Public Hearing open. Chairperson Cisneros announced that this was the time and place set for the Joint Public Hearing of the City Council of the City of Colton and the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton on the proposed acquisi- tion and sale of real property to Gatlin/Berger Developments, Inc., for the purpose of development of a Shopping Center anchored by a 125,000 square foot Wal-Mart Store and related improvements. At this Hearing all persons who wish to speak for or against the proposed acquisition and sale will have an opportunity to speak. Chairperson Cisneros called upon Staff for summary of the Gatlin/Berger Developments, Inc. Disposition and Development Agreement and proposed acquisition and disposition. Mr. Daniel E. Olivier, of Best, Best & Krieger, spoke to the Council/ Agency with regard to the proposed Disposition and Development Agree- ment with Gatlin/Berger Developments, Inc., for the proposed shopping center development. E
