With grants received from <br />In and Out, TRW Eco and San Bernardino Sun - Gannett Publishing <br />Co., she related that $15,000 have been received which will ensure <br />the continuation of these programs through 1992. <br />Ms. Hoar presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Karl Gaytan <br />and to Mayor Gonzales on behalf of the City Council. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Appeal - DV -62-91 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Affidavit of Publication is filed. <br />Community Development Director Aguilera reported that the Planning <br />Commission denied Applicant Davalos' request for a major variance <br />to reduce a side setback and a minor variance to reduce a rear <br />setback on a 380 square foot room addition to his residence, <br />located at 1674 Kippy Drive, which was built without proper <br />approvals and building permits. The finding of the Planning <br />Commission was that applicant failed to show that his property met <br />the strict requirements of the Zoning Ordinance for granting of <br />variances. <br />Mr. Miguel Davalos, through interpreter Velia Delgado, stated that <br />he is paying the fines imposed. He has attempted to resolve the <br />problem with his neighbor Sergio Trujillo. Mrs. Davalos is <br />pregnant with their third child and there is a need for additional <br />room for the live-in babysitter, who is the mother-in-law. It is <br />untrue that they plan to bring in a lot of people or to rent the <br />house. Mr. Davalos stated he owed $3,000 for the room addition and <br />he is willing to comply with rules and regulations so that he can <br />keep the room. He offered to relocate any window that the <br />neighbors feel is intrusive on their privacy. <br />Mrs. Maria Davalos, through interpreter Velia Delgado, asked the <br />Council to help them keep the room addition. She said she is <br />pregnant and because there will be three children, she will need a <br />live-in babysitter. They erred in not obtaining permits; however, <br />Mrs. Davalos stated they are complying with the City's directions <br />and now seek the Council's assistance. <br />Mr. Bill Hernandez of 731 Kippy, identified himself as Mr. Davalos' <br />neighbor.
