Ms. Tricia Ruminski, 3012 Shadid, recommended that the proposed Ordinance be
adopted as revised. She commended staff for a job well done.
After hearing persons requesting to be heard, on motion of Councilmember Cisneros,
seconded by Councilmember Roman, the Public Hearing is terminated. Unanimous
vote.
City Attorney Brown advised that there were several plans for the City Council to
consider: First adopt and approve the Negative Declaration and waive full reading and
pass first reading of this Ordinance.
Mayor Gonzales inquired of Mr. Aguilera as to his plans for implementing the
Ordinance. Mr.Aguilera informed that this item was placed in this Ordinance by
request of the homeowners in the east Cooley Ranch area, who are restricted in lot
size. He indicated that it is not their custom to cite immediately, rather several oral
and written warnings are issued in advance of citation.
Councilmembers Cisneros and Roman posed questions on applying Section
18.36.050, specifically, entirely enclosing a parked recreational vehicle from the
public right of way. They felt it would be a burden to apply it to the entire city when
it serves a small segment of the City's population. Mayor Gonzales suggested that
it would app►y in instances where recreational vehicles were parked in the public's
right of way. Attorney Brown advised that the City Council may strike a compromise
by modifying the specific section and require that recreational vehicles be kept from
the public's right of way and kept behind the front set -back. Upon agreement, the
matter is continued to the next Council meeting for further discussion.
At 8:30 P. M., Councilman Roman and City Clerk Ramos leave the dais.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS:
Proclamation
Mayor Gonzales read the proclamation declaring June 5, 1992 as San Bernardino
Valley College 65th Anniversary Day. Dr. Ronald Singer accepted the proclamation.
Historic Preservation Commission
Mayor Gonzales recommended the reappointment of the following commissioners to
the Historic and Preservation Commission with the new terms to expire in February
1994: Josiane Roman, Don E. Hines and Janet Cosgrove. Motion by Councilman
Lofy, seconded by Councilmember Cisneros, to reappoint the above commissioners.
Unanimous vote.
2
JUN 2 1992
