CITY COUNCIL/COLTON/RECREATION & PARKS COMMISSION AND THE COLTON REGIONAL PARK COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES February 7, 2008 A Special Meeting of the City Council/Colton Recreation & Parks Commission and the Colton Regional Park Committee of the City of Colton was held at 6:05 p.m., on the above -given date at the Gonzales Community Center, located at 670 Colton Avenue, Colton, California Mayor Chastain presiding. Notice of Special Meeting was given on February 5, 2008, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956. ROLL CALL CITY COUNCIL: Councilmembers present were Suchil, Mitchell, Oliva, Yzaguirre, Toro (appeared at 7:38 p.m.), and Mayor Chastain. Also present were City Manager Parrish and City Clerk Barrera. Absent Councilmember DeLaRosa ROLL CALL RECREATION & PARKS COMMISSION: Commissioners present were Kunter, Taber, De La Rosa, and Chairperson Ramirez. Absent Commissioner(s) Aparicio, Kitchen, and Ekwall. ROLL CALL COLTON REGIONAL PARK COMMITTEE: Committee Members present Abril, Tabera, Vasquez, and Zamora. Absent committee member(s) Carlstrom, Gonzales, McKinney -Underwood, and White. Also in attendance was San Bernardino County Board of Supervisor, Josie Gonzales, Fifth District Supervisor. Director Smith outlined the agenda for the meeting. 1. Presentation on Regional Park Project History, Timeline, Current Status, and Projected Future. 2. Recommendations/Alternatives. 3. Public Comment. The Public Comment section of the meeting will be presented in a two part sequence: (a) Questions from the audience regarding the discussion of Items of #1 and #2. Colored slips were provide for the audience to complete and were collected by staff; and (b) General Public Comment from the audience. PUBLIC COMMENT None. Said Special Meeting shall be for the purpose of studying the following matter(s): Presentation on Regional Park Project History, Timeline, Current Status, and Proiected Future Director Smith gave a brief update as to the direction of council as it related to the County Regional Park Project.
