room, bar -room., stand or other place in said City, where spirituous, vinous, malt or other alcoholic liquors are sold or given away, or to sell or Sive away any such liquors within said City, provided that t:r<is Section shall not apply to the sale of liquors by regularly licensed druggists, upon the written pre:-cription of a practisingphysician, regularly licensed to practice his profession in the State of California., nor to the sale by suc:,i druggists of alcohol for mechanical or scientific uses. Section 2. Nothing herein contained shall be deened to prevent said Board of Trusters from adopting other ordinances designed to aid in carrying out the spirit and purpose of this Ordinance. Section 3. Any person violating any provision of Section 1 of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a. misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shala. be punishable by a fine of not exceeding three hundred dollars or by imprison- ment in the County Jail of San Bernardino County for not more than ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force ten days after the declaration of the official count - by said Board, determining the adoption of this Ordinance". Section II. That the manner of holding said election and voting thereat for and against the proposed ordinance, shall be as provided in this ordinance, and in all particulars not recited herein, such election shall be held as provided by law far holding municipal elections in such municipality, and that in particulars not recited herein and not provided by law for holding such municipal elections, the General Election. Laws of the State df California, as far as the same is applicable. Said election shall be conducted by Boards of Election, consisting of two (2) inspect- ors, two (2) judges, VJ;:o (2) clerks, and two (2) ballot clerks for each election precinct herein named, whose duties -.nd powers shall -2-
