4 1 be deemed to refer to and designate the City of Colton and any. 2 reference to any act or any legislative enactment therein referred to 3 shall be deemed to designate and embrace the statutes of the State of 4 � California, and amendments thereof, dealing with the subject matter 5 thereby and therein referred to. 6 SECTION 6. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpora - 1 tion to install, use, maintain, alter, repair, rent, lease, offer for 8 sale, or distribute for use, any wiring and equipment used for electri- 9 cal installation in said City, or cause the same to be done, contrary 10 to or in violation of any of the provisions of these codes. 11 Any person, firm or corporation violating or permitting or 12 causing the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance or of 13 the Codes adopted herein shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and 141 upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than 15 five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment for a period of not 16 more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each person, 17 firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each 18 day during any portion of which any violation of any provisions of this 19 ordinance or said Codes is committed, continued or permitted by such 20 person, firm or corporation and shall be punishable therefore, as provided 21 by this ordinance. 22 SECTION 7. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase 23 of this ordinance or said Code is for any reason held to be invalid or 24 unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, 25 such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of 26 said Ordinance or Code. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of 27 Colton hereby declare that they would have passed said ordinance and Code, 28 and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, 29 irrespective of the fact that any one or more other sections, subsections, 30 clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. 31 SECTION 8. Ordinance No. 1345 is hereby repealed. 32 -5-
