4 <br />1 be deemed to refer to and designate the City of Colton and any. <br />2 reference to any act or any legislative enactment therein referred to <br />3 shall be deemed to designate and embrace the statutes of the State of <br />4 � California, and amendments thereof, dealing with the subject matter <br />5 thereby and therein referred to. <br />6 SECTION 6. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpora - <br />1 tion to install, use, maintain, alter, repair, rent, lease, offer for <br />8 sale, or distribute for use, any wiring and equipment used for electri- <br />9 cal installation in said City, or cause the same to be done, contrary <br />10 to or in violation of any of the provisions of these codes. <br />11 Any person, firm or corporation violating or permitting or <br />12 causing the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance or of <br />13 the Codes adopted herein shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and <br />141 upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than <br />15 five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment for a period of not <br />16 more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each person, <br />17 firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each <br />18 day during any portion of which any violation of any provisions of this <br />19 ordinance or said Codes is committed, continued or permitted by such <br />20 person, firm or corporation and shall be punishable therefore, as provided <br />21 by this ordinance. <br />22 SECTION 7. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase <br />23 of this ordinance or said Code is for any reason held to be invalid or <br />24 unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, <br />25 such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of <br />26 said Ordinance or Code. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of <br />27 Colton hereby declare that they would have passed said ordinance and Code, <br />28 and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, <br />29 irrespective of the fact that any one or more other sections, subsections, <br />30 clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br />31 SECTION 8. Ordinance No. 1345 is hereby repealed. <br />32 <br />-5- <br />
