1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />611 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />of plumbing and drainage -systems and the inspection thereof; providing penal- <br />ties for its violation and repealing conflicting ordinances. <br />If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this <br />code is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision <br />of any court of competent jurisd.iction,,such decision shall not affect the <br />validity of the remaining portions of this code. <br />The Council of the City of Colton hereby declares it would have passed <br />this ordinance and each section, subsection, clause, or phrase thereof irre- <br />spective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, clauses or <br />phrases be declared invalid. <br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of <br />this ordinance, particularly ordinance 1382 are hereby repealed. <br />PART ONE <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />This ordinance shall be known as the Uniform Plumbing Code, may be cited <br />as such and will be referred to in this Ordinance as "the code". <br />Section 1.0 - Application and Scope <br />The provisions of this code shall apply to all new construction, relocate <br />buildings, and to any alterations, repairs, or reconstruction, except as pro- <br />vided for otherwise in this code. <br />Section 1.1 - Administrative Authority and Assistants <br />Whenever the term "administrative authority" is used in this code, it <br />shall be construed to mean the Building Inspection Director or his authorized <br />representative. <br />Section 1.2 - Assistants <br />Whenever the term "assistants" is used in this code, it shall be con- <br />strued to mean any additional inspector assisting the Building Inspection <br />Director. <br />Section 1.3 - Department Having Jurisdiction <br />Unless otherwise provided for by law, the office of the Administrative <br />Authority shall be a part of the Building and Safety Department. <br />-2- <br />
