2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />0 <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />0 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />"Construction sign" means a temporary sign directly connected with a construction project and <br />may include the construction company's name, addresses and telephone number. <br />"Copy" means the words, letters, numbers, figures, designs, or other symbolic representations <br />incorporated into a sign. <br />"Directional sign" means any sign intended to be permanently affixed and utilized only for the <br />purpose of indicating the direction of any object, place, or area. <br />"Electronic reader sign" means a sign whose primary advertising focus is the intermittent display, <br />stream or movement of electronic, computerized, digital or similarly produced letters, <br />numerals, words or messages as part of the advertising message. <br />"Field" means the part of the sign with no letters or logos. <br />"Freeway -oriented sign" means a sign, located on property which is adjacent to a freeway and <br />meant to be seen from the freeway. <br />"Frontage, Public" means that side of a building facing onto a public street, mall (pedestrian <br />courtyard), or parking area. <br />"Frontage, Street" means that side of a lot abutting a public street. <br />"Future tenant identification sign" means a temporary sign not exceeding thirty-two square feet in <br />area that identifies a future use of a site or building. <br />"Inflatable balloon sign" means a sign consisting of balloons, inflatables or similar air, helium or <br />hydrogen filled materials, including balloons and inflatables made of metallic and cloth <br />material, no matter the size that is used to attract attention. <br />"Kiosk sign" means an advertising and directional sign sponsored by the local building industry <br />association or other local business and/or civic association and approved by the planning <br />commission and/or city council to advertise future residential subdivisions, residential <br />planned communities or local business promotions and civic events sponsored by such <br />associations. <br />"Logo" means a proprietary graphic used as an identifying mark of a company, business, or <br />organization. For purposes of this chapter, logos shall be limited to registered trademarks. <br />"Marquee" means any permanent roof -like structure projecting beyond a building or extending <br />along and projecting beyond the wall of the building for a distance of five or more feet, <br />generally designed and constructed to provide protection from the weather. <br />"Marquee sign" means any sign attached to, in any manner, or made a part of a marquee. <br />"Monument sign" means a freestanding sign less than six feet in height which is detached from a <br />building and having a support structure that is a solid-appearing base constructed of a <br />permanent material, such as concrete block or brick. All other freestanding sign types shall be <br />either "Pole Sign" or "Pylon Sign." See Figure 18.50-1 (Monument Sign). <br />
