R-123-07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />TO ADOPT ENERGY SAVINGS TARGETS THROUGH ENERGY <br />EFFICIENCY MEASURES TO BE IMPLEMENTED BY COLTON <br />ELECTRIC UTILITY <br />WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 2021 (AB 2021), signed into law September 29, 2006, <br />requires publicly owned electric utilities to identify all potentially achievable cost-effective <br />electricity savings; and <br />WHEREAS, AB 2021 also requires that on or before June 1, 2007, publicly owned <br />electric utilities shall establish annual targets for energy efficiency savings and demand <br />reduction for the next 10 -year period; and <br />WHEREAS, Colton Electric Utility commissioned a study, which considered the <br />technical, economic and market potential for electricity energy efficiency measures and <br />programs in the Colton Electric service territory, and, based on this analysis, identified all <br />potentially achievable cost-effective electricity efficiency savings (Energy Efficiency Potential <br />Study); and <br />WHEREAS, the Energy Efficiency Potential Study was conducted by the contractor <br />that performed the statewide electricity energy efficiency savings for the investor-owned <br />utilities and utilized the same methodology; and <br />WHEREAS, the Energy Efficiency Potential Study concluded that Colton Electric <br />Utility has identified additional energy efficiency opportunities within the Colton Electric <br />Utility service area; and <br />
