1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17. <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />WHEREAS, based upon the Energy Efficiency Potential Study, staff proposed that <br />the Board adopt a goal to reduce Colton Electric Utility's system energy consumption by .54 <br />percent per year over the next 10 years; and <br />WHEREAS, investments in achievable cost-effective energy efficiency programs <br />will result in lower customer bills, peak demand reduction and environmental benefits; and <br />WHEREAS, adoption of the energy efficiency goal will continue Colton Electric <br />Utility's leadership and commitment in increasing energy efficiency, reducing global warming <br />pollutants, and is in the best interest of our customers and the City of Colton. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, To adopt annual targets for energy efficiency and demand <br />reduction for the ten year period of 2008 through 2017 as set forth in attachment A. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That within 60 days of the approval of this <br />resolution, the General Manager or her designee is directed to report the annual energy <br />efficiency targets for the period of 2008 through 2017 and the basis for establishing the targets <br />to the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of September, 2007. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA R.
