R-04-08 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE AND AN ALTERNATE AND <br />SUBSTITUTE ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE GOVERNING <br />BOARD OF THE INDEPENDENT CITIES RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY <br />(ICRMA) <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton ("City") is a member of the Independent Cities Risk <br />Management Authority ("ICRMA"), a joint powers authority created pursuant to the provisions <br />of the California Government Code; and <br />WHEREAS, ICRMA provides a Liability Risk Management Program, Property Risk <br />Management Program, Workers' Compensation Risk Management Program, and other <br />programs for its members; and <br />WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement provides that the city council of each <br />member city shall appoint a member of the city council as that city's representative to the <br />ICRMA Governing Board and also authorizes the appointment of an alternate representative <br />and a substitute alternate representative to represent the city's interest in the absence of the <br />city council appointee; and <br />WHEREAS, City desires to designate its representative to the ICRMA Governing <br />Board; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Colton <br />does hereby find, determine and declare as follows: <br />SECTION 1. That John Mitchell (must be an elected official) is hereby appointed to <br />serve on the ICRMA Governing Board and to the Risk Management Programs in which this <br />City participates. <br />1 <br />
