In the event of anj <br />earthquake, these faults present the potential for catastrophic damage throughout the <br />City, including damage to buildings and structures. Planned Development continues to <br />occur in the City of Colton, and because of the existing faults lines, structural or building' <br />renovation or repair is necessary to prevent or cope with an earthquake disaster. <br />2. The areas of the City of Colton is subject to extremely strong wind <br />conditions, commonly referred to as the "Santa Ana' winds, which can reach up to and <br />exceed 80 miles per hour and damage structures or buildings. <br />3. The City of Colton is situated on alluvium sediments which, during <br />seasons of heavy rain, can create the potential for heavy flooding. This presents a <br />danger of damage to structures and buildings. <br />SECTION 2. Filing. This Resolution shall accompany the Ordinance <br />relating to the repair and restoration of damaged or unsafe buildings, to be filed with the <br />California Buildings Standards Commission at least fifteen (15) days before enactment of <br />modifications in said Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3. Effective Date.
