The latest available data <br />show that nearly 27% of California's population is foreign born, about twice the <br />US percentage overall. <br />Public libraries play a key role in welcoming and educating immigrants. The <br />Immigrant Alliance Project was created to support libraries as they create, <br />enhance, and extend services to immigrants and their families. <br />Bilingual Books Funding Opportunity FAQs <br />Can people use the funds for a Bookflix subscription? <br />No. 800ki�lix Isn't a bilingual resource. If we purchase bilingual materials from those vendors, can the grant <br />money be used to pay for the vendor processing (book jackets, etc.) of the titles we purchase from them or is the money <br />only to be used for the materials themselves and we would have to pay for the processing costs? <br />1. <br />1 hese funds may be used for these minor processing costs with the vendors. <br />Can the funds be used for parenting books or other adult materials that would benefit family health or is it to be used ONLY <br />for children's materials? <br />No. the books need to be for children, grades preK through St". <br />If some of the larger jurisdictions do not claim their prize, is it possible to redistribute their share to some of the smaller <br />jurisdictions? <br />i'I'u.. response for thls opportunity has been ovcrwhehring.
