2017 JUNE 06 CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING 3 - <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor DeLaRosa asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings attended at the <br />expense of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). <br /> <br />CM Toro reported his attendance at the annual ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) Convention <br />on May 21-24, 2017 held at Las Vegas, Nevada. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br /> District 5 – Utilities Commission – Ms. Hamideh Tavakoli-Ahmady <br />CM Woods submitted the name of Hamideh Tavakoli-Ahmady for appointment to the Utilities Commission. <br /> <br />Consensus by Councilmembers present with no objection; so ratified. <br /> <br /> Emergency Agenda Item <br />Mayor DeLaRosa presented for Council consideration the request to add an emergency agenda item. <br /> <br />An AMIGA Board Meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 4 p.m.; MPT Toro is the Member and <br />unable to attend this meeting. CM Suchil is the Alternate & unable to attend this meeting. As a result, SBCo <br />Supervisor Gonzales informed Mayor that he must attend as Colton needs a member present at the AMIGA <br />Board Meeting. <br /> <br />Motion and Second by CM Navarro/CM Jorrin to add to the agenda appointment of a member to the AMIGA <br />Board. <br />Vote: Unanimous <br /> <br />The name of Mayor DeLaRosa submitted as AMIGA Board as a 2nd Alternate voting member for the City of <br />Colton to be held on the June 7, 2017. <br />Consensus by Councilmembers present with no objection; so ratified. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following community members addressed the Council: Carlos Gonzales & Beth Zendejas; Tony Soto; Juan <br />Delgado; Christine Irish-Ré; and Joe Ulena. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Mayor DeLaRosa presents the Consent Calendar Items 1 through 9. <br /> <br />Councilmembers present selected items for discussion and clarification by staff: CM Woods, Item 3, 4, & 6; <br />CM Toro Item 4; and CM Navarro, CM Woods, CM Suchil, CM Toro, CM González, and Mayor DeLaRosa, <br />Item 9. <br /> <br />Consensus by Councilmembers present; direction to City Manager Smith to return at a later date to discuss the <br />filling of the Captain position in the Police Department; by the end of June (2017) at a workshop or a special <br />council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion and Second by CM Suchil/CM Woods to approve the Consent Calendar Item 1 through 9. <br />Vote: Unanimous <br /> <br />(1) Minutes – Approval of Minutes for the City Council Special Meeting held May 3, 2017; Minutes for the <br />Regular Meeting held May 16, 2017; Minutes for the Special Meeting held May 18, 2017; Minutes for <br />the Special Meeting held May 25, 2017, on File in the Office of the City Clerk.
