Suchil <br /> <br />Council Members Absent <br />None <br /> <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br /> <br /> Presentation Recognition of California State Assembly Member Eloise Gomez-Reyes for her <br />efforts to secure $500,000 State Funding for a Colton Fire Engine <br />Mayor DeLaRosa presented a City Proclamation Key Supporter and Key to the City of Colton to California <br />State Assembly Member Eloise Gomez-Reyes, District 47, in successfully securing $500,000 in State funding <br />to purchase a replacement Type-III fire engine for the City of Colton; accepted by Assembly Member Eloise <br />Gomez-Reyes. <br /> <br />City of Colton Fire Chief McHargue and Fire Captain DeBellis (Firefighters Association Representative) <br />presented a Plaque containing an Honorary City of Colton Fire Fighter Badge; accepted by Assembly Member <br />Eloise Gomez-Reyes. <br /> <br />CRADLE TO CAREER ROADMAP <br />Quarterly presentations by the following organizations: Colton Joint Unified School District (CJUSD); San <br />Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) <br /> <br /> Presentation by Jacquie Paul, Communications Specialist, Colton Joint Unified School District and <br />members of the CJUSD College and Career Fair Planning Committee <br />Topic: Report on the 2nd Annual CJUSD College and Career Fair <br />Jerry Armendarez, CJUSD School Superintendent, presentation focused on the 2nd Annual CJUSD College and <br />Career Fair held Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the City of Colton Gonzales Center: <br /> Between 2500-3000 attendees; <br /> Nearly 50 colleges/educational programs (and two military academies – West Point and Annapolis; <br /> Nearly 60 business/government and community partners; <br /> 12 workshops on a variety of topics; including financial aid workshops in English and Spanish; <br /> A new STEAM (Science, Engineering, Art and Math) activity room to inspire our younger students; <br /> The STEAM Room was primarily run by students in our high school pathways programs with support <br />from committee members and volunteers; and announced the <br /> Colton High School Stadium Groundbreaking, Friday November 3, 2017; <br /> Colton Middle School Soccer Field Ribbon Cutting, Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
