R-58-17 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, TO AMEND FY17/18 POLICE DEPARTMENT STAFFING, <br />INCREASE THE FY16/17 GENERAL FUND TRANSFER AMOUNT, AND <br />AMEND THE GENERAL FUND RESERVE POLICY <br />WHEREAS, on June 21, 2016, the City of Colton adopted a budget for the fiscal year <br />commencing July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017 which adopted a General Fund Transfer <br />amount of $11,739,332; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 6, 2017, the City of Colton adopted a budget for the fiscal year <br />commencing July 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 6, 2017, the City of Colton adopted the FYI 7/18 Authorized Position <br />List and Salary Schedule; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 10, 2017, the Finance Committee met to discuss the proposed <br />amended Police Department staffing. The Finance Committee recommendation included the <br />amended staffing, an increase in the General Fund Transfer, and an amended General Fund Reserve <br />Policy; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 13, 2017, the City Council met at a Special Meeting to discuss the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, <br />DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Amend the Fiscal Year 2017/18 Authorized Position List to add one (1) <br />Police Captain position, un -fund one vacant (1) Police Support Services Manager position, and <br />reclassify one (1) Sr. Police Services Clerk to an Administrative Assistant. <br />SECTION 2. Amend the Fiscal Year 2017/18 budget to increase appropriations in the <br />amount of $128,935 in Police Department Account Number 100-6070-6071-1010 to fund the <br />amended staffing. <br />
