The City agrees to pay fifty dollar ($50) per <br />month (twenty-five ($25) to be paid on the first two pay periods of the month) to <br />Executive Group employees who successfully complete a bilingual examination and <br />who have been approved by the City Manager. When the skill is no longer needed, the <br />employee is not required to use it, or ceases to possess it, the City Manager shall <br />terminate the bilingual compensation by written notice to the Human Resources <br />Manager and employee. The bilingual pay is tied to the position rather than the <br />individual employee, and will terminate if the employee moves to a new position. <br />Section 4. Paramedic Re -Certification. Effective May 15, 2012, the Fire <br />Chief shall be entitled to receive a sum equivalent to seven hundred and fifty dollars <br />($750) per fiscal year for each year that his paramedic certification by the appropriate <br />local authority is in effect. Payment shall be made upon each successful re- <br />certification (every two years). The City shall pay the cost of all coursework and fees <br />required for re -certification. <br />ARTICLE III <br />BENEFITS <br />Section 1. Retirement — PERS. The City shall provide Executive Group <br />employees with retirement benefits, as currently specified under the city's applicable <br />contracts with the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). Benefits shall <br />include: <br />Employees hired before PERS' Two -Tier Plan Amendment <br />3% at age 50 formula for Police Chief; <br />3% at age 50 formula for Fire Chief; <br />2.7% at age 55 formula for other eligible employees <br />One year final compensation <br />Military buyback <br />Post -Retirement Survivor Allowance for Fire and Police Chiefs <br />Employees hired after PERS' Two -Tier Plan Amendment <br />3% at age 55 formula for Police Chief; <br />3% at age 55 formula for Fire Chief, <br />2.5% at age 55 formula for other eligible employees <br />One year final compensation <br />Military buyback <br />Post -Retirement Survivor Allowance for Fire and Police Chiefs <br />Section 2. Retirement — Employee Contributions. Effective the first pay <br />period following March 1, 2011, Executive Group employees shall pay the full amount <br />of the employee's contribution to PERS (currently, eight percent (8%) for <br />"miscellaneous" members and nine percent (9%) for "safety" members). <br />
