To prevent the introduction of pollutants into the Wastewater system which <br />may interfere with the operation of the system, including but not limited to blockages <br />caused by solids or fats, oils, and grease (FOG) or pollutants that contaminate the resulting <br />sludge; <br />B. To prevent the introduction of pollutants into the Wastewater system which <br />may pass through the system, inadequately treated, into surface waters, groundwaters, the <br />atmosphere, or otherwise be incompatible with the system; <br />C. To improve the opportunity to recycle and reclaim Wastewaters and sludges <br />from the system; and <br />D. To provide for equitable distribution of the cost of the Wastewater system. <br />E. To clearly define responsibilities of the City and the User regarding operation <br />and maintenance of the public sewer system and private sewer laterals. <br />This Ordinance shall apply to all Users of the Publicly Owned Treatment Works <br />("POTW"). The Ordinance provides for regulation through issuance of Permits to certain <br />non-domestic Users and enforcement of general requirements for the other Users.
